Why not just measure it instead of using a potato cam?
-
It's not fat so it's not worth worrying about.

Lesson learned, CAP is the cheapest of the cheap. Get a better bar. If you're looking for cheap, rogue has "beater" bars that are pretty inexpensive.

Powerlifting.
-
Probably.

The dude has barely any chest at all, there's no surgery or implants there. He just got 30 years older, that's all. He looks fantastic for his age in fact.

Good thing you didn't post pics for us to see what you're talking about.

That's fair. One suggestion - why not train deadlifts 2x a week and switch arms for the different days. That sounds less annoying, maybe? Just a thought.
-
Of course, but there's a difference in lowering the bar quickly with minimal effort and lowering it slowly and controlled. The latter is pretty much begging for a back injury at heavier weights, IMO.

This is the first time I've seen or heard of people talking about doing equal deadlift reps for each "side". Is there a reason for that? Why not just find what's the most comfortable/powerful and stick to it? I don't think I've done a single deadlift with my left hand supinated in three years.

Yes, I'm well aware that women are nosy and incapable of following instruction.

I thought purses were the testicular storage standard?

Easy to do with poor breathing. Hold your breath in your abdomen and not your chest. Holding your breath in your chest can stimulate your vagus nerve and cause dizziness, lightheadedness, stars and fainting. Been there, it sucks. Anyone who tells you to breathe during your deadlift have no clue what they are talking about.…

My bar is about 7.5' long. Or did you mean the girth? It's about 27mm...black zinc shaft. I know that's your favorite. Nice knurling for maximum friction too.

Push them into the dumbbell rack, see how they like it.

I'll train you at double Pat's rate. The premium pay is so you don't have to deal with his fart jokes.

We gotta get you working on some leg drive there Steph!

I'm confused, you said you've started bodybuilding but you seem to be alarmed at increased muscle size (even if it's just from water retention). That's literally the whole point of bodybuilding, building muscle and increasing muscle definition. If you want to slim down, focus on your diet more than anything else.

I was say that the vast majority of people don't enjoy working out overall. If you could get fit without killing yourself in the gym then almost no one would work out. The secret is making it a routine; a normal part of your day. Like brushing your teeth (no one enjoys that either).

There are a billion variations on 5/3/1. Do something like Joker Sets, First Set Last, Boring But Big if you want to focus on size. More volume will help. As a beginner it's not such a huge deal regardless, it's pretty easy to get bigger and stronger at your stage of the game. Just focus on consistency and technique…

Good post, you saved me from having to type more than this sentence.

If that's too much, I should already be dead. It's a miracle if I can get a workout done in less than 2 hours.

If you really are running that fast, I wouldn't be asking us anything. You're easily the fastest person on these forums and we should be asking you for advice.

Sometime between a few months and never.

I'm assuming it's golfer's elbow since you mentioned pulling motions. Golfer's elbow tends to be on the underside of the elbow, up against the body. Tennis elbow on the outside part of the elbow and generally on pushing exercises. Anyway, as a long-term sufferer, use compression cuffs, elbow sleeves, ART, voodoo flossing…

Yeah I was surprised too. I guess that's why people on "My 600lb Lyfe" still somehow live a surprisingly long time (50ish?). Human bodies are apparently extremely resilient no matter how much you abuse them.

Hold the bar slightly lower in the hand so it's not pinching the flesh. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bTqNSgCmM2s

Dead, or close to it.

Yeah at the end of the day, like I said, I'm not even sure if it's a real problem. It's just something to look at I suppose. I know you are quite strong (especially if you are looking at 200 right now) and at that kind of strength level, every little bit of technique can help. Diminishing returns and all that.

I agree on the lockout and the eccentric thing (that should have been obvious, I used to have the same problem on the eccentric). So basically the only thing remaining comes down to nitpicking that little bit of backwards movement on the concentric. It doesn't even look like a real problem at the moment but I'm thinking it…
