Soon2beskinny, you are doing great! :flowerforyou: Checking in twice a week is a good idea. That way we can help you save the rest of the week if things are going wrong - which they won't, I'm sure! Sometmes we mistake thirst for hunger and this could be true for you, especially if you are not taking all your liquids. One…

How about 100 gr of fat-free Greek yoghurt with some Splenda (optional). It's filling, low cal and has good protein!

Hello everyone! :flowerforyou: It's been sooooo quiet in here! I hope that's because you are all out exercising and having fun wih your lives! I'm doing a bit better, the UTI is receding, thank goopdness. The sciatica is still painful but I think I have a handle on this too, so today WAS better than yesterday and I intend…

My turn to report in! My scale says I lost 1 kilo (2.2 lbs) this week, but my conscience is bothering me. The same weight has been on the scale since Thursday, with no progress made since. Oh, I can make excuses. I told you I have a UTI that has tired me out. My left leg has been hurting badly since last week so much so…

Hello everyone! :flowerforyou: :flowerforyou: I fell asleep in the late afternoon on Wednesday, so here I am, it’s 3a.m Thursday and I’m wide awake and posting! LOL  :flowerforyou: srosebar, no matter how bad yesterday was, it’s the past, it’s gone forever and it can have no effect on today. Today is a NEW day…

Hello everyone! I've been a bit "quiet" for the past couple of days. That's because I just found out I have a UTI, which partly explains why I have been so tired lately. :ohwell: To make matters worse, I'm at a stand still weight wise after that kilo I lost during my carb de-tox last week. Tomorrow is another day, however,…

Good morning everyone! It's a warm Sunday here in Athens. Yesterday was our 16th wedding anniversary and hubby took me out to dinner  I haven't done "Athens by night" in a long, long time and I was almost surprised to rediscover how beautiiful Athens is after dark. We went to an especially nice area of Athens, where…

My calories may seem low over the 3-day detox, but I assure you, the calories on Day #1 and #2 were about the same amount as I always eat. This is due to my very small stomach now. I ate 3 shrimp for lunch and dinner on Day #3, because that's all my stomach fits. If I ate 1 more, I would throw up. Sorry, TMI. I never go…

It seems we keep posting within hours of each other, Barb! The carb de-tox is simple, really, Just keep carbs as low as possible for 3 days! I used the Atkins rule of 20 gr carbs per day as a general guideline and the MFP log to determine how many carbs my food contained.I posted my meals daily in another support…

Good morning everyone :) Don't worry, Barb, I am fine! Our neighborhood is far away from the demonstrations and I didn't even see what was happenning unti this morning, cause the Press was on strike yesterday and we had no news. It's very sad about the 3 people who died in the fire, they were just working people doing…

Pure meats, poultry and fish have no carbs. Add a chicken salad (just chicken mustard and mayo) as a snack.

Congratulations to all the "losers"!! For those of us that are a little behind, this is a brand new week and it's up to us to make it work! This was a hard week for me, because I realized I'm a carb addict (and not good carbs either!) I'm going on a carb "detox" for the next few days and swear neve to let any "bad" carbs…

rjadams, if I offended with my post, I apologize. I didn't mean to be critical, I thought you were asking for help and I was only trying to do that (perhaps wrongly so). Best of luck with your weight loss efforts. Amalia

Good morning ladies from sunny Greece where it's May Day already! Hubby and I are preparing to go out a bit and hopefully find some nature to enjoy today! (not easy in Athens!) I just wanted to jot down a quick reply here before I continue with the rest of my life. LOL I have been mostly good in April and I did lose the 3…

Another beautful day in sunny Greece and since it's May Day, hubby and I will be going out somewhere to find some nature and enjoy the spring a little later. I'll admit that I haven't been too good this week. Although I kept my calories within my parameters, I haven't been eating as healthily as I should. Things…

Sorry to hijack the thread, but this is simply wrong. It's best to make PERMANANT changes in your eating habits, otherwise you will end up regaining what you lost and MORE. I should know. I've been a yo-yo dieter for years. I'm not saying you can never again have that piece of cake. You will, cause you are human. But you…

Those who believe the "calories in - calories out = weight loss or gain" will probably answer "no" but I disagree. Weight loss is more than just arithmetic. There are biochemical reactions that are going on in your body all the time that determine how a calorie will be used. Food is broken into proteins, carbohydrates and…

Good morning everyone from a dazzling sunny but bankrupt :explode: Athens! I want to thank all those who replied to yesterday's question. Some GREAT ideas there and I think I want to try some of them! Well, it seems that yesterday's weight gain was (as I suspected) water weight because it's gone today. rjadams,…

I just try to get through one day at a time. I set a mini goal every day to eat the right foods and stay within my calorie parameters. I can't handle more than that. The weight can take care of itself.

Drinking a lot of water is the ONE MOST IMPORTANT THING you can do for yourself, not only for this diet, but for your entire life. I was a heavy addict of diet soda. I used to drink 1-2 liters every day! This time, I decided to quit. I stopped the soda and started drinking water. I drink 1-2 liters of water a day and I…

That sweet tooth has been my downfall too in the past! This is why this time I'm trying very hard to stay as far away from sweets as possible. If I REALLY need to have something sweet, I'll try some golden raisins. They are yummy! I don't do protein bars, because they are mostly candy bars in disguise - with the exception…

I look st it this way: whatever I put in my log is between my log and me. (My log is not public). If I lie to my log, I'm only lying to myself. So, yes, I log everything unless I forget something. This increases my self-awareness and helps me learn more about my eating habits. And llke someone said, knowing I will have to…

Excellent post, ripgirl. Alcohol calories are not the same as any other calories and it's good to know why. I stopped dinking years ago because of medication so although the post doesn't pertain to me personally, I'll know what to answer when people insist "but the doc says it's ok to drink ONE glass of wine a day!" Sorry…

A warm "hello" to the newcomers to this challenge! :flowerforyou: This challenge is all about support. We are here to help each other meet our goals by dealing with the obstacles that seem to get in our way and stop us from completing the effort. It's a 10 week (well, 9 1/2 now LOL) challenge, so there is plenty of time to…

What are you eating? Are you keeping a log? You can rarely go over your sugar intake if you are eating fresh, uprocessed foods. Read the labels! If a product lists "sugar" or "corn syrup" put it back on the shelf and back away slowly!! Make sure your log tracks the sugar in the food you are eating (you can…

Excellent! Keep up the good work.

That's AWESOME!!! It sounds like you are on the right track! You might want to try bringing some protein to work too. Veggies are great, but proteins will hold you satisfied for longer. One easy thing that comes to mind is jerky.
