Don't worry! You are going to do great! You have plenty of time! A lot of 5K runs also have walkers, so there is no need to worry about being last. Just enjoy, I have done 2 5Ks since I did the C25K and I absolutely had a blast. My first run wasn't even that good time wise, but the atmosphere was such fun! I am already…

Hey! I finished Week 4 day 1 today and excited just because I did it. Still slow but that's ok since I am working on endurance. Bees, I am just below 8k myself so don't get discouraged. I figure it is just going to take me longer. I am trying to build up endurance and then work on speed. Keep it up! It's nice having…

Hey for those still checking. I haven't written because my runs have been so inconsistent due to travels and weather. I am happy to say that today I managed to complete week three in only a week! I am so excited. It finally feels like I am moving forward. I am hoping next week will go smoothly for week four!

You can do this! Others have said it, but mini-goals help make it less daunting. Come up with some little reward besides food for each goal you reach. Early in my journey here, I saw that someone bought a necklace and she bought a bead for every 5 lbs. she lost. She also bought a charm with a major milestone like losing 25…

I have heard of her and her promising future in the sport. I am sorry for your loss.

I am hoping to clear out some things on my bucket list. I have always wanted to complete a half marathon, and I have my eye on one at Walt Disney World this time next year. It should be nice and flat Nd a wonderful experience. I have started running to get ready. I have completed one 5k and I have another one in a couple…

That is awesome! I have just started running, and I am beginning to realize how long it is going to take to see big improvements. Looks like you've shown dedication! I hope to get there someday! Congratulations!

Ok it has taken me a month to start week 2, but here I am. I did lots of traveling over the holidays so my runs we're inconsistent. SomI redid week one last week and started week 2 again today. It was tough and slow, but I got thru it. I hope I can make it through the week! I am definitely not a natural runner.

yay for starting the thread again. I look forward to logging in some miles. Last time I used a pedometer and a stationary bike. This time I will limit it to outdoor walking, running, or biking. That should make it interesting for me...especially in January! Good luck everyone!
-
Good luck on your 5k, bstamps! I hope you find a way to make it to 100, but you win if you complete a 5k on the last day of the year!
-
Ok..this is it. 4 miles run/walk 6.5 stationary bike 1.5 pedometer Total today 12 miles December total 100.5 miles Yay! If someone proposes this for January, my goal would be to do the 100 miles outdoors which means no pedometer and no treadmill or stationary bike. I think it could happen. This motivated me. No way would I…

Way to go! I never was and never will be that flexible! Woo!

I plan to lose at least 16 more pounds and keep running. My son wants to run a 10k in July and I want to join him. I am also wanting to improve my running to where I can complete a half marathon by early 2013. There's a slight chance that I could run a half in November, but my goal is to do a Disney one which would be the…

Wow! It has been a week since I have checked in Saturday Dec.15. 2 miles Sunday. 1 mile Monday. 2 miles walking on the treadmill 6 miles on the stationary bike Tuesday. 5 miles and probably more walking all over Busch Gardens. The pedometer said 11 miles but decided to be conservative. That puts me at 62.5 miles for…

Cool! I should look up duathalons! I think the C25K program might help you. It's a program that starts with walking and running, but each week they add more running time. I barely made it thru, but it was so exciting after 9 weeks to run a very slow but steady 30 minutes. Best of luck. I am off to google your event!

That is so awesome! I love it!

I make terrible choices at times but I try to stay within my calorie limit. I just can't stay away from pizza, and my choices have been unusually bad of late. I know I am eating junk. If someone were to tell me, I would like to think I would realize they are just trying to remind me of why I do keep my diary…

Hey Dragonfly. I just happened upon this thread and it looks like you are the only one left standing, Way to stay with the challenge! less than three weeks left. I hope you make it! I would love to lose my 40th pound by new years too. Not only do I have Christmas, but also my anniversary, birthday and my son's birthday all…

it is fun to watch everyone's miles going up. Cheers to the ones who are running. I am impressed. As a beginning runner, I'm thinking my running miles will only be about 5 % of my total. Sunday was my rest day so I shopped with a pedometer: 1 mile Monday, running and walking 5 miles Total for December: 45 miles Keep it up…

Wow! I got moving today so I decided to add. Hiking 5.5 miles Stationary bike 5.5 miles (I forgot we had the bike...ha) Total today: 11 miles! Total for December: 39 miles

Enjoyed this thread. By now you have either bought new shoes or not, so my input isn't too helpful. I wore old shoes initially when I started running and could tell a difference in my knees after getting fitted for the shoes I have now. I am so glad I invested in a pair of good shoes. Looks like some others are into this…
