I am intimidated by your snatch. Seriously, I'm too scared to try snatch and my gym doesn't have anyone that knows oly lifting, so I don't try anything unless I'm pretty damn sure I can do it. Plus with my awful upper body strength, I'd probably not even be able to snatch the bar properly. Have to go steal a body pump bar…

Sometimes I pretend like my 40g of peanut butter is one serving... but usually I'm pretty good about being honest because your body keeps an accurate record, even if you don't :) ETA: I tend to overlog if I don't know... unless I'm short on calories. Then sometimes I'll pick a middle value.

Eat as many or as few meals as you like. The thermic effect of feeding (a slight increase in metabolism as you digest food) is proportional to the amount of calories/macros. So if you eat more frequently, it will occur more often, but at a smaller magnitude. If you eat less frequently, the same amount of calories will be…

How are your jerks? I just sent a friend request, Tyrone. I lift. Heavy and frequently :) My jerks are the *kitten* ^^

On a daily (or nearly daily) basis I have: protein mocha mix cake batter flavored protein powder ***** ***** Nutritional stats aren't much different from a normal natural peanut butter...except it's like reese's.

Kind of related. I was really hungover after a... cheat night? And couldn't keep anything...including water... in me... and I lost 7 lb. Gained it back the next day though. Still fun to know how much I weigh when I'm running on E.

I love these. As in they don't taste so good that I eat a ton of them, but they do quench the chocolate craving This too. I made chocolate protein muffins last night and while they were warm, I broke up pieces of milky way and stuck the pieces in the middle. Melty, chocolatey, delicious. Indulgence is good for the soul. On…

Favorite: They just came out with cadbury "screme" eggs. Taste just like the easter ones. I've already had two so far this season... before that, it would be some sort of chocolate depending on my mood. milky way, reeses, plain chocolate. Least favorite: I hate things that have nuts other than snickers, I hate all hard…

I also hate oatmeal. But, I looooove it in homemade protein bars (I use peanut butter and almond as the wet and add whatever dry stuff I have on hand, usually rolled oats, flax and protein powder or textured vegetable protein). I also like to make protein pancakes and muffins. I either grind rolled oats into flour or leave…

I agree, but I also disagree. Affirmative action does assume that all people aren't equal, and guess what... that is true. Women in the same position earn less than men. The same resume submitted with a "black name" and a "white name" will get a call back more frequently for the white name. Society is racist and sexist.…

The picture that woke me up is in my profile to remind me that even if I don't feel particularly motivated one day... I can never go back. I was so uncomfortable in my own skin and nobody should ever feel that way. For me, seeing where I was is the best motivation ever to keep going where I'm going :)

This. I have obsessive tendencies, so I couldn't eat something and not log it. I'm glad that's the case though because your body keeps an accurate log even if you don't. And yeah, sometimes knowing other people will see it does keep me from eating too much crap... But overall, I trust myself to make the right choices for…

I hate when I post and win the thread and people ignore me and continue arguing. So again: http://www.leangains.com/2010/08/high-reps-vs-low-reps-for-muscle-gain.html They basically agree that there could be a benefit to doing some lower weight higher rep work. It was my understanding that the OP wasn't saying he was…

Every couple of months I fit a box in my weekend. Last time it was 1 box kraft macaroni and cheese, cut up hot dogs in it, topped it with bacon bits, breadcrumbs, fried onions, and more cheese, and baked. It pretty much took all my calories for the weekend, but it was worth every bit of it :)

I use olive oil for most things, and I've started making vinaigrette with flax oil, since I don't eat fish.

1) Make a pact that no matter what you eat, you always log it. 2) Make your own, leaner versions of fast food. Oven fries, eg 3) See how harmless your version is and how much it sucks to log the fast food version... That is why, unless I'm hungover, I don't eat fast food... I know I can make a version that tastes almost as…

In theory, they should be roughly equal. If you use the MFP method, you are supposed to eat back your exercise calories, so you basically calculate a sedentary TDEE and then eat back exercise over that. If you calculate based on a percentage of TDEE, you don't eat back exercise calories. Example: I want to lose 1 lb per…

I don't restrict sodium, and tbh, I don't really care how much I consume... but when I don't eat anything from a can or lunch meat, I tend to be around or under 1500. It's really important to make stuff from scratch to lower sodium. Also, I don't know about your condition specifically, but in general the balance between…

Well, you can make your own yogurt too, it's pretty easy. Just microwave or boil milk until it's about 140 degrees, then let it cool down to about 110. Add in some starter culture (you can buy starter culture or just use a scoop of a store bought or your previously home made yogurt) and then wrap in towels and incubate…

I'm built heavier... not sure if it's heavy bones or higher than average muscle mass, but I always am heavier than a similarly sized person. 5'3.5" currently 150ish, was injured and not lifting, so I didn't officially weigh in the last 3 weeks because I didn't want to log non-water retention in my muscles weight. 39-29-39…

My only rule is that EVERYTHING must be logged, no matter how embarassing. Frequently keeps me from binging. Other than that, I think that being too restrictive is why people fail... I eat what I want when I want, and if that puts me over, it's not the end of the world. Things that I generally try to do: 1) I like…

I have a bodybugg (the technology of bodymedia fit) and now that I found (someone on these forums, whom I don't remember, so I can't give credit) that I can wear it in my bra, it is the BEST THING IN THE ENTIRE UNIVERSE! Since it uses body temperature and perspiration along with the pedometer, it gives a more accurate view…

Only if he can put on a very small amount. If it were me, I'd just ride the elevator for 5 minutes and all the residual cologne should make you smell nice without being overpowering. lol

I honestly look better with at least some eyeliner on... so aside from the gym, even my "natural" includes that!

When I was less comfortable with the rest of my body, I emphasized my boobs like hell because that was my best attribute. My favorite part of losing the weight is that now I can wear a damn turtle neck and feel sexy because I'm no longer just a pair of (really nice) boobs. lol So, when I first joined, I might have made a…

I haven't eliminated anything. 3 pieces of pizza on Friday. I do find, however, that I feel better and less hungry when I eat higher quality foods and lower carbs (to me, lower carbs means most of my meals don't contain a bread component... definitely nothing strict). So I tend to not make much rice/carb heavy dishes just…
