Mixed grip helped me a TON. Also, as a girl, if they have a 35 lb barbell, I can grip it much easier. Oh, and also, I usually wer gloves (NOT STRAPS) with deadlifts. Maybe its psychological, but I feel like I have a better grip. I still can't do more than sets of 5 heavy, before my grip breaks, but it is better! Other…

Thanks, I was considering doing work today, but I'm glad that dark thought is over

Jars of peanut butter. But I pretty much eat whatever I want anyways... I may have subscribe and save at amazon set up to deliver me 6 jars of peanut butter every 3 months... and I still run out slightly before my next delivery... so this time I made some and it was good. Random story for you...

This. I generally don't accept if no message (unless I recognize them), and accept most people with a message unless it's "I WANT TO X YOUR Y BABY" Then it depends on the profile pic...

Also, vegetable juicing grosses me out. Vegetables are SOLID!

So I don't have any first hand experience, but I'm starting creatine after the holidays, so I've been researching it, and the key things I've found are that you have to drink a metric **** ton of water and that carbs facilitate entry into cells. I haven't combed primary literature yet (doing that next week), so I don't…

me too!

You can add me, although I'll admit I'm not one of those "comments on your diary every day" type friends. I usually eat healthy, although this weekend and today weren't particularly good examples, but it's holiday party week and free food trumps healthy to a poor grad student!

I don't really care about this debate... nobody else's opinion of me matters to me. I just felt like putting in my stats :) Mixed race, 5'3.5", hovering around 150 lb currently, Size 6/8 depending

If you are at the default settings of MFP, the protein is far too low and carbs make up the difference. Most guidelines for preserving lean mass while losing fat suggest 1g protein per lb of lean mass. So if you weight 200 lb and are 50% body fat, you have 100 lb of lean mass and should get 100g protein per day. Fat should…

Oh man, this topic was made for me. I can't wash other people's dishes without a significant self pep talk. I think it is gross when unrelated foods touch, like a guy at the Christmas party today had egg rolls and mushroom puffs on top of his fruit and I visibly cringed. Food that leaves residue on hands, like doritos.…

I run a couple miles once a week-ish. I ran a half marathon and it made me feel good... but weights are my true love. I like that crossfit combines speed and weights, so I feel more of a burn but am still working on strength.

This. I'm currently looking into other color options though. Let me know if anyone knows a way to get purple.

Don't try to fix someone. Accept him or accept that he's not right for you. Last relationship I ended up cleaning up after him and resenting it, he felt I was mothering him and resented it... And it could have been an awesome friendship if we stopped there!

Sorry bro, my chest developed naturally.

Low fat is not synynomous with healthy, or low calorie. In fact,t hey frequently put crap in it, since they took the fat out. Aside from dairy, I can't think of anything labeled "low fat" that I think is a good thing to eat. For convenience, I like to make protein bars over the weekend and put them in saran wrap or baggies…

This. Lifting changed my life. If I was offered a deal where I could maintain my goal body without any work, but never be allowed to lift again, I'd say hell no. It's made me more confident, I feel strong and powerful and special! Also , calorie wise, the difference isn't as big as it seems because weights give an…

This super informative youtube lesson http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T-TA57L0kuc explains everything.

If you aren't vegan, whey/dairy (greek yogurt and cottage cheese especially) and eggs are good. I eat meat, and the only decent protein sources I eat that are vegan are edamame (safeway now has microwaveable individual packs!), beans (I make them into protein bars), peanut butter, textured vegetable protein (I put it in my…

I just took mine down because I didn't want to offend you. I'm so sorry you had to suffer through accidentally seeing such things!

lol! I hate it when I'm forum brwsing and something makes me laugh at work... Now everyone KNOWS I'm not reading scientific literature...

Hmm... I don't look like that when I do it. I think I'm doing it wrong.

I love this thread! So, as everyone said, if it fits in your cals, it's fine. I tried pb2 for my protein bars because I wanted pb flavor on top of the pb I could "afford" in my cals. It's okay, but I won't buy it again. I prefer to just make protein bars pb free and then put 1 serving on top to eat it. Oh, also, serving…

I think it depends on how much fat you have, honestly. If you are lean, you could see some growth, if you aren't as lean, your losses will probably outpace your gains. Personally, my lats may or may not have grown, but my fat has reduced and overall, my band size has shrunk. Cup size stayed the same.

Totally normal. Mine too. I have noticibly more coordination and strength in my right arm, but that's all that I've noticed. Nothing physical.

If you are bulking, you do not have a calorie deficit. Eat less.
