  • This is so very important for any child, just as age 3 can be very difficult with any child. I have Aspergers but wasn't diagnosed as a child. I went through some pretty terrible times in my late teens and early adulthood; but with a loving family and a sheer determination to do so much more than just survive, here I am!…
  • 2012 Ford Focus hatchback because my bike fits in the back and the gas milage is great for my long commute, and a 2013 Ford Explorer because both of our bikes or all four kids fit in the back.
  • Haha! All of this!! We were made to be friends ;) Seriously, it does not affect weight loss. What makes coffee "bad" for most people is what it's mixed with. I have a cup every morning, but I have made it suit my needs better by going from using skim milk and sucralose to using almond/cocnut milk and stevia. And I have a…
  • Hi! I'm also 38 and looove to eat! I've logged in and been active every day since before new years and my diary is open. All about welcoming new friends that want to reach their goals through a healthy diet and exercise :)

  • Only 1-2 per day if your goals are good health?? Says who??
  • Ignore the sugar, and just worry about your total calories and macros.. I go over my sugar everyday because of fruit, but I stay within my carb macro and calorie goals.
  • I also have a Cuisinart, slightly different model, and it is great and especially useful for weighing large quantities for recipes or plates of food. I also have a portable scale that I had first and use all the time because I measures down to 1/10g.
  • Fruit and carbs are not bad for you. In fact fruit is amazing for you. I eat fruit a few times a day, and it does not trigger me to want to over indulge the way that processed sweet things do sometimes. If you're getting a good workout regularly, it would seem you would get some results. But you will never out train a bad…
  • My absolute fave way (which I actually had with dinner tonight) is pan roasted with balsamic vinegar, a little olive oil and salt and white pepper. Amazing!
  • What?! 18-20 miles in one class?? I mean no disrespect, but I don't see how that is possible. I've never ridden on a "spin" bike or taken a class, but that would take me at least an hour on the road and I would never be able to do that many miles on the trainer yet.
  • I have a 500. And I think it's just a database that doesn't factor those in when it gives you a calorie burn.
  • Thank you! I'm on my second Mirena IUD, and I am losing weight just fine. When I gained on the previous one, it was stictly because of my eating and lack of exercise. I got away from BC pills because of the homones and my age and I used to smoke. The homones are so minute in the IUD that I don't see how they can really…
  • This is kind of a tricky issue if you don't have a HRM. I find that what my Garmin tells me is different that what the MFP data base says is different from what my calorie burn is based on my average HR. I know Garmins and FIt Bits and things like that are expensive, but all you really need is a chest strap and HR monitor…
  • I'm a full time working mother of 4 ages 8-15, and I don't get home 6 and do most all of the cooking. Planning ahead is everything for me. My kids do their homework and/or chores while my husband helps/oversees and starts laundry. It's like a well oil machine most days, but it has taken plenty time and effort to get to…
  • Cheerful, brave, energetic...yep, pretty much!
  • I don't have little ones anymore, but I'm kind of in the same boat. I don't go to the gym, don't have a lot of equipment and don't want to spend much money on any. There are a lot of body weight exercises you can do, and you can get a simple set of 5lbs dumbbells for cheap. You could probably use your son's weight for a…
  • I've been riding a road bike for a year and a half now, and I vividly remember feeling like you do now. My husband has been amazingly encouraging, and now I've come into my own. I think the mtn bike being a lot heavier will make it harder for you at first, but it will also help you get that much stronger because of it. I…
  • That's what I'm talking about!! If you think 1000 calorie workouts are a big deal, you must not ride
  • Most of us are very supportive of working out and weightloss. But there's an enourmous difference between being supportive and enabling people to do things that will not be conducive to weight loss and fitness in the long run.
  • I'm not trying to single you out for attack, but this is so wrong. Idk your stats, but I'm a 5'3" woman, and there's no way I could survive even 10% of the time on 1200 calories. Thinking you can "stuff your face" just because of a long bike ride isn't doing you any favors. It's "easy" for me to burn 1200+ calories on a…
  • Excellent point made here about doing things your body is not ready for. I regularly burn well over 1000 every time I ride for a couple of hours, but it has taken a lot hard hard work to get to that point and not suffer from it. If you haven't done any workouts in a while, I would highly recommend staying away from…
  • I can very much relate to your story...I think I am living proof that no matter what your past is like, your future and your health and well being can be awesome! I'm going to send you a FR :)
  • It makes you get and stay really angry?? And you're okay with this?? I'm sure your child will be affected by this:(
  • I sit at a desk most of the day, and I'm very much not busy this afternoon. At one time, I would have been obsessed with eating junk just becasue of the boredom. But now I have made the vending machince completely off limits lol, and every day I carefully pack my lunch and really good morning and afternoon snacks and…
  • Yes, do not weigh on carpet! I found out that it shows you're way less when I moved mine out of the bathroom and into my bedroom that has carpet to weigh my bike.
  • I weigh every single morning for the most part (no clothes, before consuming anything), but I tend to be an extremeist when it comes to routine Lol. If the ups and downs cause you stress, it would be best to not weigh as often. It is very normal to fluctuate a couple of pounds in either direction, especailly in the…
  • For me, the most important thing is planning ahead for meals and snacks but also exercise too. And second would be experimenting to see what is the right calorie goal for you and how to plan your day to best achieve that. You have to ask yourself, could I do this everyday for ever? It may take a bit to get to that point, I…
  • Pretty much the same here. My diary is open, and my daily goal is 1400. I also get in some form of workout every day and eat back my exercise calories. Add me if you like:)
