Sure thing Pix! Healthy Cran-Orange Bran Muffins Servings: 12 Preparation Time: 15 minutes Start to Finish Time: 20 minutes Tangy and zingy - these high-fiber muffins make a great snack or quick breakfast. This healthy version is not your typical cake-like muffin. It's substantial, chewy and hearty. 1 1/3 cups plain…

I thought I'd make up for some lost time. I spent most of the day in the kitchen, and it felt GREAT! I started the morning with my Cran-Orange Muffins with Candied Ginger. Whole wheat flour, flax and All-Bran cereal means they're breakfast - not cake. LOL Lunch was a Cilantro/ginger/lime tuna steak with sesame snow peas…

Yummers, Loves! As usual! :)

Pix - the cakes look fantastic! Very well done! Angel - lovely nummies, as always. The satay is mouth watering! Crystal - I've not yet gotten the hang of kimchi, but the soup looks wonderful! I don't know if this counts as cooking exactly, but it's what I like to call a "neat little trick". When I make fajitas I tend to…

I grew up in Elliot Lake and Sudbury. :)

Thunderstorms this morning! Wowee! :)

Hi! Welcome! :) I have a couple of tips for you. - In the food database, the items with an asterisk at the start (*) are user-added items. When I enter generic things like produce, meats, butter, sour cream, etc. I always look for an entry that doesn't have an asterisk. That means it's a food built into MFP and is probably…

I'm in that camp! You can add me if you like. It's a daunting number, isn't it? :) I've set mini-goals to avoid being overwhelmed by the big picture.

Gorgeous feast, girl! Fantabulous! I made meatloaf... LOL. Well, it was really good, and I've given up red meat for lent, so... a celebration of sorts, eh? :)

I like to keep edamame in the freezer. It's a quick protein-ful snack, and having to get the beans out of the pods slows me down enough to feel full when I'm done. LOL

I finished with a small loss - 263.4 is my ending weight. I'll take it - I've been eating like food's going out of style...

This little obsession may be contagious! Bump for later... :)

I'd probably indulge in 1500 games if I had the $$$ and space for it! LOL Nice article introducing Eurogames to the general public. Yay!

I hear GenCon's a great convention - a bit bigger than Origins too. I might get there - I'll let you know. :) Some friends of mine always go, and it's time I joined in the fun.

I'm in! Just a wee bit late, but I weighed yesterday. I'm shooting for 10lbs. Had a baaaaad January, so I think it's doable! Name/ real name: Nikkie_too / Nikkie (Original, I know...) Goal weight on February 29th: 253 2/01: 263.4 2/06: 2/13: 2/20: 2/27: 2/29:

It's not the same as pasta, but works well. My beef with spaghetti squash is that it can be awfully wet - so I scrape the cooked flesh into a clean kitchen towel and literally wring it out. It's tricky to do while it's hot, but totally worth it IMHO. Makes a huge difference in the wetness/texture.

I'm from Columbus, OH and it actually has a great boardgaming community - a club called CABS http://www.buckeyeboardgamers.org/ They have a few hundred members and have open gaming something like 2 Fridays and 2 Saturdays each month, and have a big lending library of games too. At any meeting 60-100 members will be in…

Aww - sorry girl. It was an impulsive trip. My friend found the convention on this site: http://www.geekcal.com/ I think BGG has a thread for Conventions too. I can't tell if this is it - BGG seems to be down ATM. http://boardgamegeek.com/geeklist/66079/game-convention-calendar Lemme know if you guys want to come to…

I wouldn't worry too much about exercise on the weekends - especially since you do a great job of working out during the week and stay active all weekend. It sounds like it's the food-side that's giving you trouble. Maybe try a little meal-planning for the weekend? Just knowing what to make and knowing you have the stuff…

I got up to week 5 and I've been hanging there - not running 3 days a week, so not improving much. I need to get back at it! It feels soooo good to see how I'm improving. Each week I start thinking "I don't think I can do this..." and each week I can! Maybe not the first time, but I keep getting there! It's surprising! I'm…

I went ahead and ordered Optimum Nutrition Gold Standard 100% Whey, Double Rich Chocolate, a 2 pound container from Amazon.com marketplace. It's an isolate, with good reviews on Amazon, and has 24g Protein & 3 grams of Carbohydrates per scoop/serving. A friend and her husband use EAS whey protein . She said Muscle and…

Maybe join a sports league? Handball, tennis, basketball, swim team? Games don't feel as much like exercise as running on a treadmill does, and having teammates/opponents counting on you to show up and play is motivating. I don't care for stationary bikes, but I like spin class. An instructor helps keep me engaged much…

Oh - I thought today was weigh-in day...

If you want to increase your calories without taking in a higher volume of food, try working in some more calorie-dense foods. Peanut butter, nuts, avocados, butter, olive oil, cheese. Also, drinking more water might help. As part of a challenge I drank a gallon (about 4L) per day for a week. The first couple of days I…
