A tossed-together dish of crimini mushrooms and scallions sauteed in a dab of butter with garlic. Added shrimp to the skillet and put the lid on to steam. Finished with a squeeze of lemon and served over (leftover/reheated) brown rice. Fridge to plate = 10 minutes! Woohoo! This thread has sort-of been replaced by the…

I'm not sure what to call this concoction. I sauteed some crimini mushrooms and scallions with butter and garlic, then added shrimp and a squeeze of lemon. Served over brown rice (leftover and reheated). All of 10 minutes from fridge to plate, and pretty darned yummy! :)

I usually do one of two things. 1. I'm a nerd and have weighed a bunch of my cookware empty and keep a list on my PC - that way I know how much to subtract from the "with food" weight. 2. I'll weigh everyone's portions whether they track or not (easier to do with two! LOL), and then weigh the leftovers when I put them…

Methinks he's fibbin'... you might want to get out your truth lasso, garlic7girl! :D

Man, that kielbasa looks wonderful. Haven't had a nice bit of sausage in a while. Maybe Sunday... hmmm... :) The pizza looks fresh and yummy too! :) Did you use a regular pizza crust? I tend to do flatbread (even flat-out wraps) because it's perfect for li'l ol' me.

Lunch and dinner today! White bean chicken chili from Allrecipes.com. For the love of all that is good, use fresh tomatillos! :) I could have dressed it up with cilantro and cheese and sour cream but... I didn't. ;) http://allrecipes.com/recipe/white-bean-chicken-chili/detail.aspx This is a crock-pot pulled pork made from…

LOL - thanks! If you're ever heading through Columbus (say to Dayton...?), give me a head's up and I'll make it for ya! ;) And that turkey burger looks tremendously YUMMEH!. :)

Start weight = 262.3 entered in the spreadsheet! Good luck everyone!

I'd love to play! I'll weigh in on Sunday. :)

Anxiously awaiting... :)

Yummy stuff! The red beans and rice look great! The chili beef does too, but I think I'd have to pass on the peas or sub 'em. I'm funny about cooked peas in tomato sauce. LOL

I think Rae's is the better choice. :)

Beef - Short loin, porterhouse steak, lean only, cooked, broiled I'd use that one from the database - the NY strip is from the short loin part of the cow. For real accuracy, you might want to invest in a food scale. Something digital that tares and takes at least 3lbs will cost you about $20.

Anything saucy - soups and chilis and jambalaya will all freeze well and portion well. Sweet of you to cook for your grandma!

I forgot! I was 263.4 yesterday - down 3.3lbs

I like your app! :D

Here's my attempt at chicken ballotine/galantine. Becky did this a few months ago and I've been itching to try it ever since! This version is stuffed with: - spinach - mushrooms - caramelized onions - Italian sausage - wheatberries - dried cranberries - garlic - fresh thyme Here's Jacques Pepin <3 showing how to bone the…

Oooh I like podcasts too! Here are my faves: - The Splendid Table (I like it while I'm cooking LOL) - The Spiel (yeah, I'm a boardgame geek) - StoryCorps - The Moth - A Way with Words (word/language curiosities for word-nerds) - CBC's Morning North (so I can get a little news from home now and then) - Car Talk

Nice alternatives for when we feel stuck. Thanks for sharing! :)

fallenangel - Beautiful bundt! What's the glaze? Pix - the tilapia sounds awesome! I love smoked paprika. :)

That's gorgeous! Fabulous way to start the day! Most morings I have steel-cut oats with lots of apples and cinnamon and a bit of allspice. I make up a batch with 1 cup of oats and about 1 lb of apples, then I have 4 servings for quick reheating each morning. Not very photo-worthy, but I can try next time I make 'em. :)…

Silly gooses! Dessert's not supposed to be filling... Neurotic Virgo - this looks like a yummy fall treat! And with the Kashi cereal, it's probably got a decent bit of nutrition in it too. :)
-
That's an amazing difference! Way to go! You're doing phenomenally well! :)

Lovely bruschetta! I don't blame you a bit for wanting a light meal after your 'marathon of food prep'. LOL

A very sexy salad (as Jamie Oliver might say). I know, on this thread we celebrate real food, rather than "diet food" and salad is the quintessential "diet food". However, I believe this to be an exception. You decide! This salad is a bed of mixed greens and romaine ('cause I happened to have both). Topped with - English…

Balsamic-glazed steelhead on a bed of pan-wilted garlicky rainbow chard, and brussel sprouts steamed and sauteed in butter. I'm tickled to death with this dinner! So glad I have leftovers for lunch. Yum! :) Balsamic glaze recipe: http://allrecipes.com/recipe/balsamic-glazed-salmon-fillets/detail.aspx
