fat burning zone myth
For amusement, I was reading the 'list of common misconceptions' on wikipedia, and saw this: "An exercise myth is that a low-intensity workout (in the "fat-burning" zone where your heart rate is 60–70% of your maximum heart rate) burns more calories from fat than a high-intensity workout. While you do burn a greater…

Avocados
I just found out that avocado is a Spanish word from the Nahuatl word ahuacatl, meaning testicle. :noway: I've never been particularly fond of avocados. I'm even less fond of them now ! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Avocado#Etymology

100 days club
I'm not sure how, but I've managed to log in now for 110 days in a row and whilst it's not a success story fitness-wise, it does show commitment. The iPhone app really helps, of course! So, how many others are 100 days or more? Anyone on 200?

I'm not that great at hitting the gym, mainly because I get claustrophobic and it's difficult to go there when it's almost empty, so I tend to get my exercise in by walking. These are usually longish walks (over an hour) and reasonable pace (over 3.7mph average), but is it any good? MFP thinks I'm burning a lot of…

greetings from London, UK
My problem is self control and eating/drinking too much, so whenever I calorie count or otherwise consciously control my intake, I lose weight. Right now, I'm about 112kg and should be about 90, so trying myfitnesspal to help with the control (mostly via iPhone app.) Fingers crossed!
