HAWAII is our youngest state, the 50th. That sure was a win-win for the United States!
:)
KAUAI is the oldest of the eight main islands that make up the Hawaiian Chain,
AND
contains the second wettest recorded place on earth!

(Mt. Waialeale: average annual rainfall of 9,763 mm/year)

Not only is Kauai known for its lush green beauty, waterfalls, rainbows, sunrises and sunsets,
it also happens to be one of my favorite places in the world!
<3
LET’S EXPLORE A LITTLE:

Please stay active while enjoying the following video and give yourself Five (5)
Exercise Minutes!
While most tourists think of Hawaii in terms of Waikiki & Maui,
not as many
mainlanders
go to Kauai, and if they do, they probably don’t make it to where WE are going!
SO...SHHH....DON’T TELL….SECRET…
:D

HERE ARE SOME ANSWERS TO WHAT I IMAGINE WILL BE FAQ:

1) DO I HAVE TO DO ALL FOUR MILES IN ONE STRETCH?
NO. YOU MAY BREAK THE FOUR MILES UP INTO ANY SIZE INTERVALS!

2) MAY I USE MY TREADMILL OR ELLIPTICAL MACHINE?
NO. THIS CHALLENGE IS SPECIFICALLY DESIGNED TO BE COMPLETED OUTSIDE.

3) WHAT IF THE WEATHER PROHIBITS ME FROM HIKING OUTSIDE?
WEAR A RAINCOAT OR SNOW BOOTS. REFER TO #1 ABOVE AND TAKE VERY SHORT HIKES. REMEMBER MISSIONENFORCER KNOWS WHERE YOU LIVE! :D

4) CAN I RUN THE FOUR MILES?
WE PREFER YOU DON’T, BUT YES, SURE!
BUT!! YOU’LL NEED TO DOUBLE IT AND RUN BACK THE OTHER FOUR.
TO BE CLEAR: RUNNERS MUST DO A TOTAL OF EIGHT MILES!

5) I CAN’T THINK OF A #5, BUT I BET ONE WILL COME UP. PLEASE POST IT ON THE
“Q & A” ANNOUNCEMENT”!

CHALLENGE #2: “JAMMIN’ TO THE GROOVE”
(10 points)

HAW-02-33-35-cs.jpg

Hula is an uniquely Hawaiian dance accompanied by a chant or song that preserves and perpetuates the stories, traditions and culture of Hawaii. Hawaiian legends tell stories of hula beginning on the islands of Molokai and Kauai. Today, this enchanting art form has become a worldwide symbol of Hawaiian culture and the beauty of Hawaii's people.
HOWEVER, we are NOT going to learn the Hula! I know, SHOCK! :o

If you wish, you can learn more about Hula Dancing here: HAWAIIAN HULA DANCING

On a local radio station, MUVE is broadcast so that Hawaiians, of all walks of life, young and old, can get up and get their energy flowing (remember Rajio Taiso?).
WE ARE GOING TO DO THE MUVE!
1flyinggirls.jpg
MUVE is multi-generational & always spontaneous!
You dance just the way you like it!
MUVE can be done in a group or individually in front of a TV or computer.

The message is:

"YOU CAN’T DO IT WRONG AS LONG AS YOU HAVE FUN!”

:)
To date there are over 200 MUVE DANCES.
MUVE IS A FUN AND EASY WAY TO START (OR END) YOUR DAY!
JUST JAM ALONG WITH THE GROOVE!
IT’S EASY!
IT’S HAWAII!

IN ORDER TO EARN YOUR 10 POINTS FOR THIS CHALLENGE,
TRY EACH OF THE VIDEOS BELOW AT LEAST TWICE

*** THAT IS 2 X 4 = 8 TIMES! ***

YOU DON’T HAVE TO DO THEM IN ORDER!
JUST LIKE THE RAJIO TAISO,
WE WOULD LIKE YOU TO SPREAD THEM OUT OVER THE COURSE OF THE WEEK!
