Welcome to the group!

Whether you're new to using fitness apps and groups, or a seasoned professional… We've all found our way here for the same reason - We've spent most of our lives fighting for control of our own body!

Managing our weight and physical fitness, especially when dealing with other physical and mental health problems, is probably one of the hardest tasks a person can face.

Whether you're dealing with a buildup of bad habits and lifestyle choices, health/mental problems or just have trouble keeping the right mindset - It all starts with making a CHOICE to change and sticking to your guns. However, having a good support system can literally make all the difference in the world.

“WHERE THE MIND GOES, THE BODY WILL FOLLOW.”

For many of us, battling our weight has consumed a major part of our lives...a very private part. When you're dealing with weight and self-image problems (i.e. depression, low self-esteem and so on), one of the hardest things to do is open up and share these problems with anyone else. Many times, close friends and family will know our struggles, but seem to leave us to our own devices when it comes time to take action and stay motivated.

We may be ready and determined to take control and start changing our lives now, but what happens when the mood is past? How do we stick to our guns when dealing with things such as lack of motivation, depression, extra stress, discouragement, and all of the other hardballs that typically sabotage our weight loss and fitness success?

These questions are the reason that this group is dedicated to providing a consistent source of support, inspiration, motivation, and information resources for those of us who have struggled to take control of our weight, fitness and overall well being.

Now, let's establish an amazing support system that will keep everyone accountable and on track!

    My name is Emie, 31/F/Missouri. I'm a single mom with 2 boys (ages 8 and 9), and work as a freelance writer, editor and internet marketing specialist.

    I've been battling my weight since I was about 13. I dieted, exercised and did everything I could to lose weight, but nothing worked. At 18, I was diagnosed with Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS), and soon after a hurniated disk. After having my kids, at 21-22, I was diagnosed with Arthritis. And the list just kind of keeps on going...

    My most successful weight was 195-200 lbs. (I LOOKED GOOD!) around 2008-09 right before having my kids. They're 11 months apart, so I didn't really take a break to care for my own body. After my 2nd son, I never managed to lose the weight again.

    So, I'm tired of struggling to lose even just 20 lbs. and then gaining it right back. I'm ready to make some major changes, set some goals and get a plan to reach those goals.

    I'll have to get back to you on what that plan is exactly...
