Just letting you all know Colin is alright. His eyes were both alright. The Dr thinks he may have a sinus infection so our GP gave him more antibiotics.

Thank you so much for praying. 💕

Thank you all for your prayers on Tuesday May 2nd It was a trying day, taking in a lot!

I had my Dental Oncology follow-up regarding up-coming surgery and treatment.

They are sending a report to my Surgeon. My Oral Dental Surgeon said My mouth is in rough condition due to the cancer & surgeries I have had to date.

He said “you are one tough cookie” I responded and said I had a lot of faith and the Lord keeps me strong and helps me to keep fighting. And he said “He sure does” and said some positive things regarding my faith and gave me a pat on my shoulder! 😊

Dental Surgeon knows my surgeon needs to remove further tissue and do treatment and do some reconstruction before closing. However, my Oral Dental Surgeon’s are also recommending my Surgeon to pull out the bottom inside of mouth at lip line including bottom lip out as much as possible to hopefully help my mouth opening to increase, he gave a dental term about the procedure instructing my Surgeon.

My mouth opening has been reduced in size of opening since the last follow up which causes them concern.

Dental Oral Surgeon said I will still need the treatment that will stretch out the palate, mouth & jaw to a normal opening so I can hopefully take in a soft diet.

I was told when I get through all the treatment Dental oncology will need to start the restorative
work that the cancer and multiple surgeries have damaged to the inside of my mouth.

I leave this in God’s Hands! God is Faithful, He has brought me this far and will carry me the rest of the way.

The Lord has provided me a Team of Top Notch Specialists and a Team of Surgeons who I trust completely in which I thank God!

So this is my latest update! Thank you for walking this journey with me with your love support and many prayers! ❤️🙏😊

Judith, I agree with Linda and your Surgeon. You are showing a great deal of strength and faith. You really are a shining witness! Will continue to pray about all you must go through.

To answer your question about Colin, yes, he started Physio the day of his shoulder surgery and had continued to have weekly sessions. His shoulder is healing well. The lungs still need some care.

That is good to hear, Linda. Praying he will respond well and find ways forward.

Colin's lungs have healed. His shoulder progress has slowed down a bit probably due to the coughing. He is still making progress, just more slowly than before.

    Dearest Friends,

It’s very hot here… we here are dealing with a lot of out of control wildfires. Here is what we are living under right now.

The B.C. government has declared a province-wide state of emergency due to the growing number of aggressive wildfires threatening communities. Premier David Eby announced the declaration at a news conference Friday afternoon, following a challenging 24 hours that saw fast-spreading wildfires trigger thousands of new evacuation orders and alerts across the province.

    We need prayer… thank you…
Will keep you posted as I know more

    God Bless
    Your Friend

    Severe Weather/Air Quality Alert 🚨

Smoke is causing or expected to cause poor air quality and reduced visibility.

(August 25, 2023) Metro Vancouver Regional District has issued an Air Quality Advisory due to high concentrations of fine particulate matter that are expected to last until there is a change in the weather. Metro Vancouver and the Fraser Valley are experiencing elevated concentrations of fine particulate matter. The fine particulate matter is primarily due to smoke from wildfires burning throughout BC and Washington State. This advisory will remain in effect until further notice. Smoke concentrations may vary widely across the region as winds, temperatures, and wildfire behaviour change.

Postpone or reduce outdoor physical activity while fine particulate matter and ozone concentrations are high, especially if breathing feels uncomfortable. Exposure is particularly a concern for people with underlying conditions such as asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) including bronchitis and emphysema, and other lung diseases, heart diseases, and/or diabetes; individuals with respiratory infections; pregnant people; infants and children; older adults; and outdoor workers (e.g., construction and agricultural workers). Individuals who are socially marginalized may also be at higher risk (e.g., people who are experiencing homelessness or are underhoused).

Our air Quality Index is reading a 6!

Thank you for praying my Friends 🙏

    Good Morning

My Surgeon’s assistant called yesterday on Monday our holiday, yes, it’s surprising she was working on a holiday; she called to tell me that Tuesday’s surgery for another patient was cancelled and she was giving me heads up that she was sure but hoping my surgery would go forward next Tuesday the 12th.

As you will remember my surgery for Tuesday Monday July 11th was canceled. It seems that ever since Covid shut down everything our Healthcare has never got back to what it once was. There seems to be both staffing issues and equipment shortages.

Please pray that no further delays or cancellations will happen or take place and my surgery will go forward as planned!

Thank you all, it’s so appreciated! 🙏

I will pray that you will be scheduled as planned. Waiting is hard when you need the surgery to be done and "get on with your life."

I was discharged on Thursday afternoon. I had reactions to the anesthetic this time with vertigo and dizziness. I have been extremely weak. Each day is getting better. Today I am nearing my baseline weight of 97 pounds, was down to 94/95 pounds but today I am 96/97 pounds. I have had a lot of excess fluid build up, my Surgeon took me off all meds I normally take so BP and Fluid build up has been a little crazy.

I tried watering plants outside but it proved to be too much, my dizziness is not under control and I am just starting to get rid of the fluid build up in my body.

I have surgery follow up appointments at VGH and Vancouver Cancer Clinic on Thursday and Friday.

    Thank you for your prayers…❤️🙏

    Good Afternoon All,

As you know I had my 2 week follow up appointment yesterday with my Surgeon at VGH.

He wasn’t able to treat the area as there was a lot of pooling and bubbling of excess skin that was intertwined in the sutures. He said the area is raw. The sutures are still surfacing from deep within which will eventually dissolve. He said to continue to apply ointment over the sutures re-dress the area & cut off excess skin as it loosens and come back in 2 weeks for further follow up. The face, lips and mouth are quite sore.

I am still experiencing dizziness, light headiness and weakness.

Since surgery my Chronic Nerve Damage has been a concern as Chronic Nerve Pain has intensified. For the 3 days in hospital my Surgeon took me off the Nerve Pain medication my Neurologist had started me on. I am back on the meds since returning home but I haven’t had the same results as I had before surgery!

My appointment for Pathology regarding mouth and jaw issues has been changed to November 14th as the specialist can’t treat area as it’s too soon from my last surgery as I am in the 1st stages of my recovery period. I am two and a half weeks post-op.

Still waiting for appointment for surgery and nerve damage-pain follow up with Neurologist.

Will keep you updated as I have further information. Thank you for your ongoing prayers. 🙏

    God is So Good! ✝️❤️

Judith - my prayers are also with you and the doctors that are treating you. I'm sorry the nerve damage pain has gotten worse and it is not responding to you medication as it did before surgery. Maybe the medication has to "catch up" to what it was before since you did not have it during the hospital stay. How is your blood pressure? Is that affecting you dizziness and weakness?

My BP has been up and down but my Surgeon doesn’t feel it’s causing the dizziness to linger. The weakness is improving, not totally there but better than it was. My meds will catch up eventually I am sure.

Thank you JC and Linda for your kindness and your prayers! ❤️😊
