I got so excited about this that I have already signed up for my first 5k!! I'm doing the Color Run on Oct 6th in Des Moines. Any one else have any race plans yet? (I know its really early, but I couldn't help myself!)

I don't have one scheduled yet, but do plan to do my first 5K (a color run) next year. However, I am so inspired as today I watched my 18 year old daughter run her first half marathon. I was so happy to be there to support her and cheer her on. She was crying in pain by the time she got to the finish line. 13.1 miles!!! I am so proud of her!0

I am doing the "Gritty Goddess" 5k all female obstacle course / mud run in November. This will be the first time ever doing something like this and I'm excited about the event. I really need to build more strength and endurance, so I figure if I keep at my current pace, I can feel confident in getting through the course by November.
I just found out about a "Color Run" and it looks like lots of fun. Best of luck!!!0 -
Oh wow! Good for you! I'm not that brave - just want to get through the program unscathed!0

I'm doing the Color Me Rad run on September 8 in Fort Worth, TX. It looks like fun. I can't wait!0

I am hoping to do something in December. I know from experience that I'll need a couple of months more training after finishing C25K to tackle a 5K. Would love to be at least 20 lbs lighter by then too.0

Oooh the Gritty Goddess sounds fun! Where is that if you don't mind me asking? I am thinking of signing up for a 5k in October. There is one at my alma mater and one in a local park--the only problem is that they are on the same day so I will have to choose one.0 -
The one I'm going to is in Galveston, TX, but I think they have them all over. Here's the site: http://www.grittygoddess.com for more info. This is so far out of my comfort zone, but it's a really positive, supportive event, so I feel less scared to take the plunge. And I figure by November I'll be stronger and more confident.0

I've signed up for the Love Your Body run at Thanksgiving Point in Utah; I did it a few years ago (mostly walking), but it's through beautifully manicured gardens and is exclusively for women. That's in October, and I'm so excited.0
