Thinking about heading to the farm to get away from the city lights & catch the Perseids meteor shower!

But I'll probably stay home, clean my apartment, & cook food for the week. Whoohoo!

Tonight I am going to catch up on my dvr for the shows I missed since I went out last night.
Saturday: I have to work from 8am - 12:30 then I have softball practice with my new team until 3 and then I am taking a friend out for her birthday.
Sunday: I will finally catch up on household chores before going to softball in the afternoon. We are playing a team called ultimate crossfitters so it is protein shake vs beer.

Going to a friend's tomorrow for a movie night with some people and some food. The rest of the weekend will be working hard on my treadmill, cleaning, grocery shopping and cooking to get ready for the week. Not very exciting, I know.

Bachelor Party at a cabin, this is the itinerary I was emailed:

    Friday night
Arrivals accepted for 2pm and beyond. Upon your arrival, you will be issued a beer, a prophylactic, and a length of rope. If you are curious about what any given item is for, please refer back to the more tasteless email replies from the previous group string.
Friday's theme is: appreciating the cabin, feasting, getting to know/reaquainting with your bachelor party breatheren, feasting, killing brain cells, feasting, and general tomfoolery( see: yard games, bonfires, arts/crafts).

    Saturday
First order of business: Embracing your hangover. There will be a designated puking area located 40 feet offshore; swimwear recommended.
Second order of business: bloody mary bar. Veterans of the strong drink will tell you you can't be hungover if you don't cease being drunk. Sounds about right to me.
Breakfast will be served then as well. I'm pretty sure there will have to be a lottery to elect those charged with feeding you animals so early in the day.

Saturday's theme: Watersport. We will be embracing the lake(s) with an excursion to a nearby private/public beach (possibly clothing optional, standby for confirmation) on the front end of the day to establish base camp. Ski boat, fish boat, (possible) jet ski at our disposal. I believe feedbags are to be distributed for "lunch"
The evening plan is a Lake Mille Lacs walleye fishing launch. Sober motor vehicle(s) arriving to pick us up at 5pm. We hit the water at 6pm-duration 4 hours. We will be fishing, we will be grilling meats, we will be drinking, but in no particular order. Upon completion of launch, we will be picked up again and funneled to a nearby boozing establishment which may or may not have semi-legal ****-fighting in the basement. Cab rides pre-scheduled for 1:15 am
If my calculations are correct, we should have the cognitive capacties of 7 year olds at this point. Logic would dictate we establish some sort of hybrid ironman/para-olympics. This will require some careful thought, but events such as "squat the Bob", *****-slap contest, and naked 3 legged race sounds about right. Wait, did I say naked? Can that be erased?

    Sunday
Establishing a large breakfast will be top priority.
Majority of brainpower will go to remembering the previous 2 nights.
Cabin shutdown to occur midday. If time permits, hopefully we can adjourn to the nearby hospital for IVs
  • A 2 day club championship golf tournament.

Oh, Carl! GOOD LUCK!!! :flowerforyou: :flowerforyou:
  • Friday - taking my girls to a hotel (yeah, second staycation in a couple weeks) to swim and watch the River Regatta on Saturday. We were supposed to run the river but I decided that a nice pool and hotel sounded better than floating 5 hours down a river with 40,000 other people -- at least 2/3rds will be drunk AND it's supposed to top 115 degrees. No thanks...

Saturday - again, watching the chaos and then when we get home we'll be watching the Perseid Meteor Shower. I'm lucky... I live in the a rural area so no need to escape the lights of the city! Might make a bonfire and just lay out under the stars.

Sunday - CLEANING my freaking house... yet again!

Oh, and I have TWO killer workouts planned... one for Saturday early evening and one for Sunday. Today is a rest day!

    ******

OMG Jim... .your bachelor party sounds like massive fun! Just BE CAREFUL! Booze and water don't mix well.... okay, PSA over!

Going up to Mackinaw Island with the woman, it's supposed to rain though and everything we have planned is mainly outside. This will be a pretty good test of our relationship. I'm pretty sure if it does rain we can find a way to keep ourselves....occupied though.

Tonight I am lifting weights after work. I have a rather weird first date for this evening too. I met a girl on Match. We've been texting the last few days. It turns out she lives about a mile from me and we shop at the same grocery store. I joked that since we were both so busy we could meet in the produce section and I could get her some sliced strawberries and water mellon. She said she actually had to go to the store tonight and I do too. So I am going to meet her in the store. I told her we could finish the date in the ice cream aisle. It looks like I am having fruit and ice cream for dinner tonight.

Tomorrow, I am running 8 or 9 miles in the early morning then going on a 20 mile bike ride around 11:00. Later thaat night, I have a date with a woman I met on POF.

Sunday, chill out, do some laundry and cleaning and figure out how I went from zero dates in 14 years to dates with 3 women in the same week. Life is good!

Tonight: Dinner and a movie with my sister

The rest of the weekend hinges on whether my BF comes home early or not. I really, really want to go see the Perseids, so if he gets back early we have more time for stargazing.

Interesting plans! Love the cabin weekend!

I'm so excited for tonight. I'll be seeing The Spazmatics which only sing 80s songs. Hulk and some friends will be with me.
I have no idea what to do tomorrow.
Sunday I'll probably pack for California trip and just take it easy.

I'm in the artic for a week, so not a lot of options. Working tomorrow, but the rest will probably be spent sightseeing some glaciers or watching movies and of course the gym.

    Are you a Minnesota boy?????
I love launches on Lake Mille Lacs! They're so fun!

This weekend I'm working on Saturday, then hanging with a friend, then working part of the next day and meeting up with a different friend to plan our vacation we're taking.

As usual, I'm stuck in the Middle East for the weekend. I have meetings tonight at Iftar (the evening feast signifying the end of fasting for the day, since it's Ramadan here), and meetings tomorrow night, as well. All alone, as usual. Flying back on Monday.

On the plus side, I am staying at a 5-star spa hotel with a great gym, a quiet, relaxing pool, and fantastic food. Not to mention the spa.... So, it ain't all bad... :-)

Bought 3 books at the bookstore yesterday, so heading for the pool to relax and read.

    Enjoy your weekend, everyone!

Just picked up my brother from the airport!!!!! He's off boozing with his friend before his friend gets married. I have to go direct a choir and shake some hands, then I'm off to the wedding after party!

Tomorrow I will drink a lot of water.
