Best Compliment EVER!!!

So me and a girlfriend of mine went out to lunch today....
We sat down and I noticed a guy sitting alone in a booth across the room. Very good looking. And I alerted my friend that I ought to get his attention, it doesn't hurt to try.
So on the back of my business card (that doesn't give too much away) I wrote the following:
"It doesn't hurt to try. You caught my eye. No I'm not a freak, just gimme a holler if you are interested in talking."
And left my cell number on it.
I didn't want to create a scene for him so as I walked by his table I put the card down, with the note side up, and said "You've probably never had anyone do this but don't read too much into it, I just figured I'd give it a shot" he smiled and I smiled and I walked away.
I sat down at our table again, I watched him put the card in his pocket and leave.
No, he wasn't wearing a ring... I checked.
But as my friend was giggling her *kitten* off, she said the best compliment ever to me "Giiiiiiirl you got some BIG BALLS".
I told her I figured why not try.
Then we got back to the office and she told a few people and they are all laughing...and carrying on, and one guy says, oh so and so I think works with him, I think he's married....Well....poop!
I guess the fact that I got the office laughing and she said I had big balls, makes my day.....
Has anyone done that? Any tips for me to do it better? lol Any luck???

That is a great story!!! I met my ex-husband by walking up to him and introducing myself.0

Not quite like that... but I have left my name and number on a guy's windshield after much flirting from the vehicles. He called. We went out a couple of times.
Good for you, though!0 -
This is great! LOVE IT!0

Good for you! Who knows, maybe that guy was wrong and the dude's single! I've got my fingers crossed for you. But even he is, your friend's right.....way to be assertive!0

I was thinking the same thing, I thought whoever said that might've just been joking with you.
You know that dude is probably FB'ing about it right now, too. LOL I'm sure you made his day regardless!0 -

Or he may have been thinking of someone else...endless possibilities. And yeah...win/win situation0 -
Ha Ha it's stupid crap like this that people should do more often, even if it's just to get a laugh out of everyone and yourself.
Keep a positive attitude and never give up, be brave and maybe just maybe good juju/karma will come your way.
Thanks for all the positive comments, I just had to share that.

Great job! I'd def call. Any woman who would do that is worth getting to know better.

Great job! Even if he is married you tried and he is probably telling his friends and having his ego stroked from a girl doing that to him.0

This is how it can be done ladies.
If I was that guy and was looking I would respond.
If for whatever reason I was not interested (had a GF etc) it would still make my day for a pretty lady to have done this.0 -
Great job!!!
I was thinking about how in our youth we walked up to people and tried to befriend
Them. No worries about rejection. I watch it happen w my kids now. I know the boys will start soon w my daughters. Yet in our adult years this becomes soooooo difficult!!!
I have started conversations w so many random people just to try and get back some of that youthful attitude :-) I haven't given out my number, but I will now talk to anyone. I was in a paddle boat w three if my kids yesterday and called out
To the guy fishing on the shore, lol!!! He actually answered me back. Maybe someday, something will come of it :-)0 -
Good for you!
One day I was pulling into Ulta and I was jamming out and singing along to Rhianna and this cute guy pulled up next to me and noticed me rocking out. Once in the store, he mentioned that I looked like I was having fun and was laughing at me. When I left, I stuck a note on his windshield with my phone number! He texted me a few days later. We never went out, (turned out he was pretty young) but it was still pretty empowering doing something like that! And if I was the guy I'd feel super flattered!0 -
Very bold..and I'm in awe..I want to do that next time I see someone alone and attractive lol.
I doubt I will but good job!0 -

I love it!!!! I am so impressed with you!
I work for The Salvation Army and at Christmas we partner with the Marine's Toys for Tots drive to distribute gifts. For the last two years, there has been this gorgeous, crazy intense, totally intimidating marine there. We constantly stared at each other but I could never work up the balls to talk to him, or if I did I got tongue tied like an idiot. The last day we were there last year, I gave him a Christmas card with my number it in. He never called but I was so proud of myself for stepping up.0 -
That takes some SERIOUS guts! I'm beyond proud of you. :drinker:
I don't think I'll even be that bold. :sad:0 -
You probably made his day if nothing else.
Good for you for being forward thinking enough to approach the man, I see nothing wrong with that in the least.
Good luck in your search..0 -
VERY nicely done! I agree with the others...at the very LEAST...you made his day. But to make such a bold move and have so much fun with it is awesome for you.
And you just never know...0 -
Kudos! :flowerforyou: I hope he rings :bigsmile:0

Nothing yet..... we'll see. Oh well it made my day.0 -
Lol just saw a post in a local forum about a woman doing this, but she was out with her daughter and he was out with two of his kids. She must have assumed he was a single dad, but the wife "kindly" posted on the forum later that day to inform the world her man was taken lol.0
