Hi all,

I'm going to Eurogamer in September and would like to dress for the occasion

I've still got a loooong way to go to reach my target weight and need a costume that won't involve having my muffin top out on display.

Any ideas?

  • I would love love love to do Mamma Gkika from Girl Genius (actually, I would cosplay the hell out of pretty much any of the Foglio's female characters!)

Lulu from Final Fantasy 10 has an awesome costume- might be a bit of a pain to recreate though?

I'd LOVE to do Bayonetta, but the costume would be just ridiculous, both to wear all day and to make. XD

My next cosplay is Mrs Cake from Discworld. Yeah, thanks for that suggesting, guys!

If might be an idea for something that you don't need to add to much to. Do you do a lot of sewing? If not, have you got a dress you already find flattering that you could add to in some way?

Thanks guys  Some great ideas here!

Sadly I don't sew...at least not very well! I've a feeling that it is something I may need to take up!

If you don't sew, strips of fabric and safety pins over an existing dress looks cute, but involves very little effort.

I can give you some tips, when I was 17 I made my first outfit, actually not for me, for my friend it was a star fleet uniform from Star Trek The (slow) Motion picture!
I've made lots of ball gowns (for me, and friends, my previous life involved balls!) and outfits for my daughter, historic ones and book characters.
I love sewing almost as much as I love eating!
