Hi ladies. I'm about 2 weeks in to SL. I don't think I can up the weight on my bar a whole five pounds next time, and the plates I have don't allow for less. I read that you can get 1 lb. washers that would fit the bar. I have a basic 1" diameter bar, not olympic. Can someone please direct me as to where I can find these?? So far I checked Home Depot and no luck. Thank you.

I haven't tried washers, but you can get 1.25 and 2.5 lb fractional plates. I ordered them through the Weightlifter's Warehouse storefront on Amazon.0

the hardware store should have them...try home depot, ace, etc. You also might try to use the weight saftey locks....those have to be close to a pound each. I'm tempted to weigh them next time I go lift just to see. I might have to put a few on instead of just one....hmmm, ideas!0

Thanks for asking this question because I wanted to know as well. This is what you can find on amazon.
