Dying Natural Hair

Is anyone having trouble lightening your natural hair? I would love to do an Ombre look but my hair is very resistant with color and I don't want to risk any damage. Any ideas?

I have been natural for 9+ years now. I always use henna to color/dye my hair. Try looking at hennahut.com for some ideas and tips!0

In the natural hair community Honey and lemon can be used to very very slowly and gradually lighten your hair color. However Henna deposits red and will only show up well on lighter hair colors and as a red, auburn, to burgundy color highlight on darker hair0

Mine is color resistant also, and its because my hair is low porosity hair, but I use Clairol Textures & Tones every 6 months, but I leave it in for a few hours instead of the directed time. It works pretty well.0
