Is everyone ready for week 3?

We're going to start out with cardio, we've been going strong, so let's keep up the great work here.

Cardio goal   117  minutes
(Inspired by chapter 6, page 117 of Breaking Dawn, Where Bella says, "I had another idea for burning calories!" )

P.S. ..... how you burn them is your decision!

Food   ---  Strive for 5
Each day let's work to take in a combination of 5 fruits and veggies, your choice.  Let's make them so delicious that even Edward would be tempted to eat them!

Water--- as important to humans as blood is to the vampire.  As Laurent said to Bella in the field, "I am quite thirsty, and you do smell....simply mouthwatering.".

Keep in mind thirst is often mistaken as hunger, so drink plenty of water. Let's have those 8 cups a day to stave off hunger. :drinker:

Thoughts of Twilight.... Let's share a Sparkly thought or two this week to keep our team members smiling! Pictures, quotes, random thoughts, it's all good!

Happy week three everyone!

Well, my first thought after reading Yvonne's suggestion that we share a random Twilight quote or whatever, was that I would do the random flip open and point method of finding a random quote, from Eclipse, and this is what I landed on:

"Your lips are still blue," he mused. "Want me to warm those up for you, too? You only have to ask."

Brings the whole scene back to mind, doesn't it?

    Week 3 Day 1

    Strive for 5 - check
I had 3 fruits today, and with my taco soup, managed to get a couple servings of my veggies in.

Water - check (48 water and 16 non caffeinated)

Cardio. 50 minutes dodging Mosquitos, but one still managed to get me! (my HRM watch has gone wacky, so I have to look at past workouts to gage my burn).

Calories - 226 in the bank

Twilight thoughts: most of you know that I have been looking for a house (for a very long time) to buy. Well, today I was looking at photos of a house that was just listed. In one of the pictures, there was a poster of Bella and Edward on a bedroom wall. That made me smile!

Strive for 5: banana, peaches, cucumbers, lettuce - Enough for about 6 servings

    Water: 64 oz

Cardio: Zip, Zero, Zilch...No time or energy.

Calories: -2 calories - pretty sad considering I've raised my daily goal!

Twilight thoughts: I'm re-reading the books and I'm on Eclipse...it's the engagement ring, leg hitch scene....Talk about a great part of the book. *sigh*

Twilight: Twi, I'm re-reading Eclipse right now too. They are practicing fighting newborns with the wolf pack.

    Here is some fun news:
Thanks to the keen eyes of Amanda over at Twilight Examiner, we’ve spotted another retrospective about the Twilight Saga filming experience. Entertainment Weekly will be releasing Twilight: The Complete Journey. The details of the book (magazine?) that are currently available on Amazon are as follows:

A gorgeous all-access guide to the Twilight saga from the magazine whose writers and photographers covered the phenomenon before anyone else and better than anyone else. “The Twilight Journey” follows author Stephenie Meyer and stars Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner on their wild, five-year journey from the set of the first movie to the premiere of 2012′s “Breaking Dawn, Part 2.” With funny, intimate, often shockingly frank interviews as well as set visits, trivia, book and movie guides, and dozens of now-iconic photographs. The book is not only a keepsake for fans to pore over but also a revealing portrait of an unassuming first-time author and three very different young actors coping with a fame so sudden and overwhelming that it not only transformed their lives but Hollywood itself. Includes five posters based on original EW covers.

    Week 3, Day 1

Strive for 5 check-- banana, grapes, carrots, celery, salad, and yummy roasted bell pepper
    Water -- 8/8
    Cardio -- 55 minutes
Calories -- 37 in the bank

Alice is such a cool character, I want to be her! Some of her many talents (from Eclipse, the graduation):

"What was she thinking about, anyway? To keep you out, I mean."

His eyes flashed down to my face, and narrowed in suspicion. "She was translating the Battle Hymn of the Republic into Arabic, actually. When she finished that, she moved on to Korean sign language."

    Day 2 of week 3.

    174 banked
    100% water
50 cardio so far (pooped tonight, so no walk)
Strive for 5. Apple chips, apple, peach, spinach, tomatoes, corn, onions

Today on the radio they played a recording of a deleted movie scene, and if you called in, and guessed the right movie, you won a milkshake a week for the next year. The recording was of Edward talking to Bella in Twilight, where he tells her she should not go into the woods alone anymore, because he is not the worst thing out there. She says she can take care of herself, and of course he says she cannot. You may ask if I called in, I did not. I was driving, didn't have the phone number, and I would have to drive 50 miles for the once a week milkshakes! My diet doesn't need a milkshake a week, believe me! The girl who won was elated, she said she had a bad day, but this made her day! I think it made my day too!

On another note, Rob is selling the mansion, so sad!

Strive for 5: peaches, cucumbers, carrots - enough to cover my 5 servings

    Water: 64 oz

    Cardio: 55 mins

Calories: -385 calories - I finally got off my lazy butt and worked out tonight

Twi-thought for the day: One of my favorite things is my Kindle app on my Droid. Hubby got me the Twilight books and it's awesome to be able to pull up a book and read whenever I have a free minute or two. Somehow, Edward makes sitting in a waiting room or standing in a long line much more bearable. *sigh*

    Week 3 Day 2

Started babysitting my 4mo granddaughter today (3 days a week). Today was a long one cuz they went out for a fun night after work. But my dear DIL bought groceries just for me so their fridge is stocked with some of my faves, tomatoes, strawberries, and Greek yogurt. Gotta get up to speed bringing my laptop so's I can visit my sparkly friends when baby naps!

Strive for five: strawberries, banana, peach, carrots, celery and salad with tomatoes
Cardio 87/117 got a doggie walk in and push-ups, planks, etc. (Hope I can keep this morning routine up!)
    Water 8/8
Food: 47 cals in the bank--I'll take it!

I was thinking about how awesome a book Eclipse is, thanks to Bella really deciding what she wants and what she has to do to get it, in spite of what others want for her--Charlie, Jake, Rosalie, and especially Edward. It's so rewarding seeing Bella mature! Kind of an encouragement to all of us who identify with her!

Strive for five: Banana, strawberries, spinach salad, tomatoes, and yellow bell pepper, carrots, and celery
Cardio 147/117 Yes! Curves with Kathy
Water 12/8 Super hot here, ugh!
Food 177 calories in the bank, hooray

Whenever I read Midnight Sun (thanks to my hubby loading it on my PDF reader on the iPod) I think it Stephenie Meyer's best book. And the one that really makes us all swoon for Edward. Who can't help fall for a guy who not only looks the part of the Byronic hero, but actually thinks "out loud" for us all his passionate, despairing, sometimes violent thoughts.

    Be still, my heart!

Week 3 day 4 (I am not sure what day it is, it's been one of those weeks)

Strive for 5.. Peach, avocado, lettuce, olives, tomatoes
    263 in the bank
No cardio yet tonight, I am enjoying the calm night on my porch swing listening to the occasional hummingbird
    Water 6 H2O and 2 decaf beverages

Twilight related sort of: A friend asked me to the movies tomorrow, we decided to go see Ashley Green's new movie, The Apparition. Should be good and spooky! Gotta support our Twi actors!

I was listening to my iPod at work today, Twilight Score. I like to imagine what is happening in the movie during the songs. I got a little goose bumpity when I thought of Bella's hair blowing in the fan, when she is heading into science class, and the look on Edwards face at that moment. Chilling!

    Week 3 Day 5

Strive for 5: raisins, celery, carrots, avocado, salsa, red and yellow peppers, salad, and peach.

Water: 104 oz (Zumba + hot weather makes drinking water easy)

Cardio: 153 minutes total (awesome zumba class with our favorite teacher)

Calories: 396 calories in the bank.

Twilight-- Since I just watched a movie in which Rob played a billionaire, I figured I choose a quote about the Cullen wealth (and good looks).

It seemed excessive for them to have both looks and money. But as far as I could tell, life worked that way most of the time. It didn’t look as if it bought them any acceptance here.

October 2nd is my birthday....I know what to tell hubby I want!! lol

I know I haven't been around much this past week....and if you've seen my diary then you know I've been struggling. Still playing with calories/macros, but here are my stats which I've collected based on whatever my goal was each day.

    Strive for 5: 5 of 7 days

    Water: 7 of 7 days

    Cardio: 135 minutes total

Calories: 212 calories in the bank.

    For the week:

    Water 4 of 7
Strive for five. 5 of 7
Cardio 106/117 ( didn't feel well Sunday, so no extra cardio to get to goal)
I ended the week in a deficit, although I am trying to cut back on my Friday night splurge meals.

I lost a little weight this week, which makes me happy. Thank you for everyone's support. These challenges help me do better!

 Week 3 The Final Tally

    Strive for 5: 7 of 7

    Water: 7 of 7

    Cardio: 216 minutes total

Calories: 465 calories in the bank which I'm saving for a big splurge on Labor Day. Next week may start officially in a big hole, but hopefully my body will still register that deficit.

Going back to work went well although I didn't get any of my strength training in. I saw an amazing number on the scale briefly, so I'm feeling motivated!!

    Twilight Talking about strength training:love:

Just before I heard the shattering crunch of the van folding around the truck bed, something hit me, hard, but not from the direction I was expecting. A low oath made me aware that someone was with me, and the voice was impossible not to recognize. Two long, white hands shot out protectively in front of me, and the van shuddered to a stop a foot from my face, the large hands fitting providentially into a deep dent in the side of the van’s body.
