Tractor tires rock!

New to MFP. Saw the group decided to join and post. I'm on the NW side near O.P. Schnable park. I hit the gym in the wee hours on the weekends (it's all mine at 3 AM) and have a couple of big ole tractor tires that I like to work on with sledgehammers, cargo straps, and ropes in the early daylight hours during the week. I like to take them to a couple of different places nearby and get a good sweat going. If you've never worked out with stuff like that you really need to give it a try.

Nice to "meet you" I also love the gym when there isnt anyone else there. Some of my gyms locations are open 24/7 so I take advantage of it when I can. I bet the tires would be a good workout. I have this funny mental image now of me beating the stuffins out of some poor tire like a crazy woman

I, like many others, have found that you can only beat the tar out of a tire so long before the tire ends up beating the tar out of you. It is rare indeed for someone to feel that they taught the tire a lesson at the end of the workout. :)

have you used/tried Battling ropes? I have a friend that started doing that and she loves it. I know I would. The ropes are expensive if you don't belong to a participating gym, though. AND you need space. I live downtown area, so that is out.

BUT, I want to think about it and maybe just haul them to the park and do it.....lol

I bought a 150 ft spool of 3/4" manilla rope and made a single 50 footer out of it. I use "fight snakes" with it as well as tie it to my tires and hand over hand drag them to me. If you can find a church or school parking lot after hours they are great to borrow.

Sounds like you could start your own boot camp. Where do I sign up?
