hey guys I am new to the group and had some questions, I have never broke 400 have always been under but was 396 at one point in time playing football. I have gained and lost through the years but cant seem to break the 330 mark, I am 6' 6" tall. I need to get rid of stomach and i run 3 mi minimum at least 4 times a week. The lowest I had been was 308 on the return from 18 months in Iraq but went back up instantly to the 330 mark. ANy advice to beat this plateau would love to be back under 300 just once

First, Thank You for your service ( I assume you are military I can't see any other good reason to go there) Second Welcome to MFP and the Group. And third I wish I could help but I am 334 right now so I will be watching this thread.0

I used to weigh as much as you did. I am currently at 270, and need to drop 30 more pounds. I will tell you what helped me a lot. I was watching WHAT I ate and I lifted weights. Running is something I am currently trying to pick up though. Btw, thanks for your service! I am trying to drop my weight because I want to join the Navy( and feel better about myself!).0

Welcome to MFP and thank you for your service!
I'm 6'-3" and my top weight was 330... since joining MFP in march I am now down to 286. The one thing that helped me the most was cutting out all restaurant and fast food (except one meal on the weekends with my wife). All other meals are I make at home. I don't require a lot of variety in my meals so I cook 5 days worth of chicken breast or thighs. buy large bags of frozen corn and LOTS of mixed green salads (I use low cal vinaigrette dressing). breakfast is oatmeal with splenda and blueberries and my snacks are lots of apples, pears, grapes, watermelon etc...
basically eating nutritious and healthy foods... My next goal is to incorporate some form of exercise, all the weight I have lost so far was purely diet driven.0 -
My top weight was 465ish. I currently weigh 291. I track my food on MFP, don't fudge the numbers and exercise like a mofo. I cheat sometimes because I don't want to be a slave to food but for the most part I stay under the alloted Calories to reach my 2 lbs/wk goal. I rarely eat out and if I do, I check out the nutritional information ahead of time so I can plan my meals accordingly. I eat a lot of lean white meats like chicken, turkey, and fish and eat a ton of vegeables and some fruit.0
