Perfect weekly challenge. I have stalled out completely. I have been 137 to 140 for the last 5 weeks. It seems like I get to 137 on Sunday and then gain and chase that 137 all week long. lol. I have worked my way back up to running 3 miles a day after breast lift surgery. I continue to do abdominal and arm work. I can't do 30 day shred yet. Too much jumping around. haha! I'm hoping that now that the kids are all back in school, we will be back to a set routine. I need to be back in my best shape before the middle of Sept. when I get my tummy tuck. I won't be able to do anything for at least 6 weeks following that surgery. I would love to hear what others have done to break a PLATEAU!0

Oh, and Jersey, I haven't started back with weights since the surgery. I was't supposed to lift anything over 5 lbs. now 10 lbs. I've been too scared to start lifting again. I have my 6 week post op appt. Tues. morning, so I will talk to the doc about lifting.
So sorry that you got off track. But, the important thing is you are back! Good luck! What an exciting couple of months you have ahead of you. :flowerforyou:0 -
Whew well in the past 2 months, I've only lost a couple of lbs but I honestly expected my weight loss to stall out long before now so I'm just fine with that. I'm really close to my goal weight so I'm just going to keep going and know I'll get there eventually
I definitely think I'm working hard enough. My diet could always improve but I try to eat healthy-ish I work 5 days per week and on 4 of those days I have a lunch break, and I go to the gym on those days. On 2 of my gym days, I lift. On other days, I either take a walk/hike or ride my exercise bike for a bit.0 -
How perfect to be talking about plateaus! I have been the same for about 2 weeks... gained about a half a pound with TOM. Whenever I notice that that scale is sticking, I change up my workout. (much to my dismay--running is therapy for me...) So yesterday, I got on the stair climber machine at the gym, and today I weigh 160.1!!! That's a 1.7lb loss from my last check in (2.2 if you count TOM gain lol). I'm trying to avoid processed foods, but sometimes the pre-packaged low calorie snacks are the easiest way to control my intake. I'll probably stick with the stair climber till I can't stand it anymore (that's usually a week or so haha) and then go back to running. I'll prob do weights tonight, too, but gym time for me has been 5am and I usually only have time for cardio before I go home and shower and get my kids ready for school.
(mini victory--mfp asked me to adjust my daily goals bc i've lost 10 lbs since my last goal setting!! I'm super excited - even though it doesn't mean eating more calories... lol)0 -
What do you eat Linea, calorie wise? And good for you for finding what works to keep the weight loss coming!
I have struggled lately. It's weird because I can't really tell you how I went from 159 lbs to 171 lbs. In all honesty, I ate under my calorie goal, I exercised... this doesn't make sense. I guess that's why I gave up for a couple weeks. I didn't log my food anymore, I didn't wear my bodymedia fit, I just went through the motions. I stopped trying to drink water, I blamed things on how stressful life is right now, and I gave up. That "give up" point was around the 170 lbs mark. No joke, I had gained 11 lbs without a change to diet or exercise... I still have no idea what happened, or why.
So I tried on my wedding dress and found it snug, not too tight, but snug, and I freaked out. Had I really just marred my body for the wedding?! And so this turn around began. The scary (very very very scary) part is, I don't know what more to do to get the weight back down!! I am now watching my sugar intake and upping my protein, I am exercising... I am under my calorie goal. I don't know what I need to do to lose. I feel like I have tried everything. But I am back on track, and hoping that it gets me somewhere.0 -
Jersey--I try to eat around 2-300 cals for breakfast, same for lunch and dinner. Snacking is my biggest struggle for containing calories--I can easily eat 500/day. I try for 300... usually end up with 400. But I don't go over 1300 when I work out or 1200 when I can't work out. (Is that what you were asking?)
My sister and I were just talking about not understanding/trying to find the balance between not too much but not too little when it comes to food. What kind of calories are you eating right now?0 -
I started this whole thing at 1500. Then I wanted to speed up the loss so I dropped it to 1200. My weight stalled after a month so I upped it to 1350 and changed my workout. No change. So I upped it to 1500. Weight loss again. Then it slowed. Then it stopped. And now I am at 1600 cals, which I lost again with for a while, but now I have stopped, GAINED for the first time, and now stayed the same.
I try to eat balanced macros. ~90 - 100 grams of protein a day.0 -

I know that my success is directly linked to my motivation. Now if I could just get my husband/family to adopt my healthy habits...0
