Hi Ladies! It seems like everyone is still kicking butt! Sorry that I have been MIA for the last few days. My house was invaded by the in-laws and it was very difficult to get a workout in...But, I am right back at it today with Fire EZ 45...I really need to get a matt for extra cushion cuz the tile is killing my knees!

Glad to see you back in action! I was researching mats last night. I have wall to wall carpet in basement and it starting to wear on my knees. I just found my low tread nike's so I am going to put those on. Walmart has the Gold's Gym Mat for about 20 bucks. I am going to see how my Nike's workout out this week and if not, I will try and get the mat in the coming week.

Hey all, I'm ready for my rest day today!...even though I'm going running with my boyfriend anyway hehe. After the holiday, I could feel my motivation slipping a bit. Is it just me, or is it a bit harder to get pumped to do the longer workouts?

By the way, I actually just purchased the Beachbody Jump Mat which I was told was better for plyometrics. I'm afraid my yoga mat would rip if I tried to jump on it (I use it mostly to cushion the impact of the jumps). It was a bit pricey though...I found a cheaper one being sold on Amazon if anyone has interest in a mat for plyometrics! (link below)

Hey all I did my workouts yesterday and today. Yesterday I did Fire 45 burned 289 cals. Today I did HIIT 20 and CLX Push 1 Burned 390. Loved both of these workouts. =) Everyone is doing great btw this is helping me keep accountable also.
  • Great job on pressing play and getting it done, everyone! I am LOVING this workout and can't wait to see the results start showing up! I already feel stronger and am so proud of myself every time I get done with a workout and am pouring sweat everywhere! Does anyone else feel like they stay warmer the rest of the day, especially after doing the HIIT workouts? I wake up sweating most mornings now, and my face feels flushed throughout the day! Is that part of the afterburn?!

So, I'm trying to make sure I'm right on track to make sure I get the results I want. I did the calculations from the Fuel the Fire book for how many calories I need to eat. Figuring the lowest level of daily activity and setting a 1000 calorie defiicit, it looks like I need to eat about 1700-1800 calories. Now, MFP has me at 1340 for BMR, and usually when I input my exercise, that goes up to between 1900-2000. So, if I take the average, my target is around 1800 calories/day, right? Anyway...I've adjusted my eating to reflect more of the style that the Nutrition Guide suggests...not necessarily following the recipes, but replacing processed carbs with veggies, whole grains(brown rice, wheat pasta, wheat bread) and choosing lower fat options. The thing is...at the end of the day, I'm ending up closer to 1300-1400 calories! Which is great except that I've heard not eating back your exercise calories can slow your progress!

So, should I try to add more snacks? Add more calories to my meals....and if so, via protein or carbs? Or since I'm just starting out, is it OK to have that big a deficit? Any thoughts/suggestions much appreciated!

Amccart4~ How much weight do you have (want) to lose?.. If you only have about 20 lbs (your ticker), then I think a 1000 cal deficit might be too much. Shoudl be approx. your TDEE - 20%. I think that you should add in some snacks that are high density such as nuts, avocado, cheese (low fat), add a low carb protein shake etc. and try to reach your calorie goal. Also, there is a thread on MFP called Road map (search for it) that gives you a pretty accurate amount of the calories that you should be eating (this also helps you figure out your TDEE).. Try that one out because it is more individualized than just using your weight.. Good luck!

Lucy--- WTG on getting your workout in even when it was so early!
AMCCart--- I don't ever feel warmer after HIIT. I know she says you will feel your metabolism all day. Well I don't lol. I feel the same. I do have more energy but it's everyday not just on HIIT days. (shrug)

I did the Core 20 and Stretch 10. I was suppose to do Stretch 40 but I don't really like yoga. I just wanted a light stretch. I burned 122 calories today. My abs feel it. I used free weights instead of the band becuase the band bothers my arms on some of them and I wanted resistance. My stomach muscles hurt! hehe Feels good.

Lucy- Great job adapting!! I know it's VERY tempting just to brush it off and say you'll do it tomorrow.

Metzy- I dislike the yoga portion of it too, but I really need to become more flexible, so I'll have to just grin and bear it for now.

Today I did HIIT 15 and Tone 30. I find the cardio workouts MUCH easier than the Tone / Sculpt workouts... maybe that just means that I NEED them more =)

I felt like doodoo when I got home from work today. I almost talked myself out of the workout, but talked myself back into. I did the low HIIT 20. So glad I did it! I also tried a new mat and it was wonderful!!! My shoes moved so much better than on carpet!

Hi and welcome to the group! I am not following the meal plan and I am not sure of the others..I have never been able to follow a meal plan set up by someone other than myself..I guess I am too picky! But, I wish you luck and please keep us updated on your progress! :-)

I am also too picky to follow the meal plan. I don't like most seafood, which most diet plans love to include in their menus. I'm trying 40% carb 30% fat and 30% protein, and I just calculate things on MFP to try to stay within those goals (and my calorie limit) for the day.

Afternoon ladies! So I did 55EZ today! Out of this world! Great workout.

And about the meal plan...I am not good with meal plans. I don't eat red meat, pork and I am allergic to shell fish. I try to stay in my MFP calculated range. Try to eat a well balanced diet.

I am curious about shakeology.....has anyone tried those. I currently use Unjury protein powder and love it.

Weekends are not good for me and exercise (bridal shower on Saturday and both my boys had soccer games today).. I guess I am a reverse weekend warrior!

Lucy, I have tried Shakeology and absolutely LOVE it! It is the best tasting meal replacement/protein shake I have ever had. However, I unfortunately cannot afford it... If you want to try it, I can hook you up with a beach body coach that can send you a sample..

I was going to have my off day be Sunday but we went to ikea, then had to help my hubby put together our table whilst wrangling a 3 year old. Today I made up for it. I did Fire 30 and Push 2 boy did I feel great afterwards. I love working out now. It's Chalene. I love her she really motivates me. Today I started my 5 th week! Yay

I did 55 EZ this am. I really can't believe I can get through the whole thing now. I get to about the last 8 minutes now and go wow I'm getting tired and push through. It's awesome!
