After derby treat

So, a lot of the girls on my team always have the same thing after practice. One girl (a nice skinny girl!) has a banana. One girl has macaroni salad! One girl has a glass of chocolate milk. I always stop by McDonalds and get me an ice cream cone! What about you guys, anything in particular you have after your bouts? I guess we should help each oher to think of healthier alternatives. Maybe instead of that ice cream cone I should get a skim milk or a banana, or even chocolate milk. Any ideas.

  • After practice, I have a protein shake. I throw in the blender some strawberry whey protein (about to switch to chocolate though), a frozen banana, and half a cup of skim milk. It's pretty filling.

    After bouts, my teammates and I TEAR UP the (bad) food! We workout outside of practice and TRY to eat well so after a bout we take that night and the next day to have a free day and eat whatever we want! Then back to the grind on Monday (or Tuesday if we had a Sunday bout).
