Hi

I'm in my early 30s, live in England and I have MS, fairly mild so far luckily and I was diagnosed almost 3 yrs ago aged 29. My first symptoms began 6 years ago.

I came across the swank/Jelinek stuff back when I was diagnosed and it gave me so much hope. Unfortunately I have only done it half heartedly over the last 3 years, possibly because I was a bit in denial and because my whole adult life I've been a yo yo dieter with a bad relationship with food. I've quit smoking two months ago, for good I hope this time, and now I've dealt with that addiction it's time to sort the eating out! I'm 5 1/2stone heavier than when I was 18 YIKES!

Now I wana get strict and lose the flab, and look and feel great! Aiming to consistently keep saturated fat below 10g a day as Jelinek recommends. Would bring me mjor peace of mind and reduce my anxiety ove ms to know im properly doing this. If you're not aware of this chek out http://www.overcomingmultiplesclerosis.org/ it makes so much sense to me.

If anyone feels they are in a similar boat then add me a a friend, so we can hi five each other when our sat fats are under 10gs! And tell me off if I eat chocolate!

Claudia

Hi. I have had MS "officially" since 1997. I have been doing fairy well until 1/2012 when my legs went cement feeling on me and it won't go away. Decided it was time to push through this anyway.
I am checking in to the book you suggested as I want to do whatever it takes to feel good again. I am already GF, eat very little dairy (some mozzarella cheese )-- but no milk or ice cream, and will on occasion eat red meat, but mostly eat chicken or fish. I do eat dark chocolate from time to time. But hey, if they all gotta go--then I will do it.
It won't be an instant fix in my diet, but I will try it and see how I do and how I feel.
Feel free to friend me if you like, and I will do my best to support you in your journey.
    Wish you all the best.

Hi...I was diagnosed in 2010 and I have been on a diet ever since high school. I am the kind of person who sees food and gains weight. It's so easy to gain since I have no metabolism so it seems. I am 45 years old and as of yet no physical disability. My MS has been bad lately as I moved from Cali to Indiana and the weather here is horrible. I would be happy to be on Team "MS Warrior" I though follow the belly fat cure since it worked for me and I felt so energized while on it. Unfortunate I had some major family issue got stressed and depressed and out the window it went :-( I found this "My Fitness Pal" thingy and thought how east to keep track of my sugar and carbs by scanning thing. Cognitively I am all over the map so whatever helps to keep me on track! Thanks for the invite. Good luck.
