I have been a Walker in the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer twice, and the Breast Cancer 3-Day once. I also walked in Making Strides Against Breast Cancer, although that's a much shorter event. I was by no means thin for any of these Walks. I just decided that I wasn't going to put my life on hold waiting for "when I've lost the weight."
I'm hoping to meet other Walkers here, and create a place where we can give each other encouragement and support.

That's great! I'm signed up for the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer (and Step Out to Fight Diabetes) this year, there were scheduling conflicts for both of the big ones. I haven't decided which long walk to do next year. Have you ever done the Avon Walk? I think they started out the same group and you could really tell for a while, but the two are starting to look more different now.0
