My Butt Hurts!

The tailbone mostly. After doing a search the general consensus seems to say I need to hit a legit bike shop and get fitted in my saddle and/or get a proper saddle that didn't come from Wal-Mart. Is there anything else I should be asking the bike shop folks about pertaining to the fact that it hurts to sit?

If you want to solve the problem once and for all spend some money and get a Brooks Aged saddle. Your butt then basically forms the perfect saddle for you. Never had anything better!

Saddles are pretty personal. I found the Adamo Prologue fixed my issues.

Your tailbone shouldn't even be in contact with the saddle, so I'm going to agree with those who recommended a bike fit. Something is not right there.

Swung by the local shop on the way home. Apparently if I keep it up and don't get it fixed I run the risk of cysts.

I'll be seeing him tomorrow for a fitting...maybe a new saddle if need be.

(Funny looking old guy. His regular glasses had a built in rear view mirror...and I realize as I'm typing this that those were his riding glasses.....)

I'm assuming you already have padded bike shorts... I know with those on I feel no pain.

... and if I continue riding for an hour or more on the stationary bike at the gym, I'm going to start wearing my bike short there too! Ouch!

You're assuming wrong then. I'll probably end up picking up a pair today, depending on if the guy overcharges or not. Otherwise I'll probably end up at ****'s or Sports Authority.

Edit: Lol, what an unfortunate name for a sports store. *Male genetalia*'s

The guy gave me a Selle Royal Respiro. Plenty of tailbone space.

LOL We used to live in Great Bridge-I know of whom you speak! That man rides EVERYWHERE! I've run across him (not run over him) way far away. He rides to and from work. I'm not sure he even owns a car. That's a great bike shop too. My husband bought his Cattrike there. Good people.
