Fit Test a must?

Is starting out with the fit test a must? Do I only do it one day and then go on to the workouts. I did the plyo cardio today...and about died...did not make it all the way through. But hey, I am giving it as much as I can.

Hello! Do you have the workout calendar so you can see the schedule? Here's a link in case you don't have it: http://theinsaneworkoutprogram.com/about-insanity/insanity-workout-schedule/ If you are just dabbling and going to do a random video every now and then, then it wouldn't be a picture of progress. However, if you are going to really do, stick to the workout schedule, starting with the Fit Test. You take it every two weeks and it helps track your progress. If nothing else, it will give your confidence a boost.
Take the fit test. Stick it out for 2 weeks (even if you feel like you suck, you have to take breaks, stop early, etc). Just stick it out. Take the fit test again on W3, D1. Be amazed at how much better you do!!!
Here are my results. I just took the fit test for the second time today. I'm so glad I did it. I knew I was stronger and cardio was better, but this makes it tangible. And it gives me the push I need for the next two weeks.
Day 1 Test > Day 15 Test
Switch kicks - 20 > 39
Power jacks - 36 > 45
Power knees - 80 > 97
Power jumps - 19 > 28
Globe jumps - 6 > 8
Suicide jacks - 11 > 15
Push-up jacks - 14 > 21
Low oblique planks - 40 > 500 -
Thank you! Yes, I do intend on sticking it out, and it wasn't horrible today. Just i felt like I was dying at times and only got half way through it. But, I work from home, and don't leave the house much or exercise like I used to. So I know I am not in the shape I was at one point, even weighing less than I ever had. So, I will stick it out, fit test it tomorrow and go from there. Thanks!0

Yea.... You need to do it for that... Doesn't matter if it's not that good (we're all bad at our first one)....The goal is to be better on the 2nd and 3rd etc...Keep it up, don't give up

Those are stats to be proud of! Great work! One note: the Switch Kicks are 2 to 1 rep (so 123 individual reps would be 62) and Globe Jumps are 1 revolution (4 jumps) to 1 rep, so that would be 4.
If you're counting them like that already, color me doubly impressed; those are fantastic numbers anyway!0
