Motivation and ideas - greatly appreciated :)

I'm getting married May 18, 2013 and I tend to have problems with sticking with my workout routines and finding foods that fill me up and aren't "bad" for you once you eat too much.

I've tried Jillian Michaels Six Week Six Pack and 30 Day Shred, and due to some circumstances, just was not able to finish them. I plan to start the 30 Day Shred again today and either the Six Week Six Pack or Ripped in 30.

Any ideas?

    Exercise:

    1. Find something that you enjoy. Do you enjoy the Jillian Michaels 30 day shred. I used to do this one all the time because it was quick but I didnt' enjoy it. I really enjoy the strength training portions of Chalean Extreme so I have no problem doing them. I actually look forward to it. That works for me because I enjoy it and you need to figure out what you enjoy the most because that will work for you.

    2. Schedule it. I"m more likely to do something if I put it in my schedule, then I have a tough time convincing myself not to do it.

    3. Buddy up once a week. If you have to meet a friend once a week for a work out, you know that you are at least going to get that one work out in. I don't want to look bad by cancelling when I am scheduled with a friend so I always make myself go. I find this helps me with one of my runs a week.

    4. Sign up for a class. The township I live in has affordable fitness classes they run 3 times a year. I like these because they are close to home and because I paid for them and they are scheduled I tend to not miss them. Also, even though they can be tough classes I've learned to love them for the challenge.

    Food:

I struggle with feeling full and not be hungry. Mostly this is an issue when I'm at work, when I'm home on the weekend I have to remind myself to eat. I have found that having snacks like an ounce of cheese, greek yogurt and 10 almonds help a lot. I also bring 2 to 3 pieces of fruit a day. Remember when selecting dairy products you're better off buying full fat and not low/zero fat. Full fat will be more calories but they will actually fill you up so they are more valuable calories.

Thanks Steph! I had no idea about the yogurt at all. I was actually buying the Yoplait light for quite some time.

But I do try to work out with my fiance as much as possible. It's just kind of hard sometimes when I'm sweating my *kitten* off and he's making jokes about it. I just end up kicking him out of the room. :) I will try to get out there more and see what other people are up to.

I did actually enjoy the 30 Day Shred DVD. Not so much so the Six Week Six Pack. I plan on pretty much doing everything I can and working my *kitten* off as much as possible. I don't really have time for procrastination at this point.

Hey no problem! It's not easy but hopefully one day it's just everyday life for us. :)

My fiance will lay on the couch while I do a work out dvd and say that he's enjoying the program because he loves the ladies in the videos. LOL. ;)

Same here. He says he loves when I do plank jacks from Six Week Six Pack. He says "you got your cute butte in the air bouncing around." Lol

I agree with exercise you enjoy!

I will be playing soccer 3 times a week starting in a couple weeks.. really fun exercise for me!

I love spin classes, and step classes.

Sometimes I do the elliptical (not as fun, but once a week aint bad and I watch TV at the gym while doing it)

Running I have learned to enjoy, but havent done much lately.

    Finally I love rollerblading!!

I am also struggling to find snack ideas that are low cals/fat. But I think I am going to be buying a lot more fruit as it is filling and pretty low in cals :) I do enjoy yogurt with granola in it.
