How Many of You Ladies.....

Hi Ladies!

Just curious to see how many out there are doing some sort of low carb, and if not what are you doing that is working for you?

Are you ladies seeing any steady loss, or are you still struggling to find what is right for you?

Have any of you noticed any of your symptoms subside after losing a bit of weight? have your symptoms always been heavy or on the lighter side? (I myself don't have a lot of the physical outside issues I know some ladies do) :(

I would love to hear your stories and opinions! Can never have too much info from others going through the same things!

Also, if you are looking for any supportive PCOS buddies, feel free to add me :)

well you already know part of my story. but, six years ago, after struggling to conceive for a year, I went on South Beach for a few weeks and bam - got pregnant. I tried it again a few weeks again and it was awful. I felt terrible. I'm thinking maybe it was the addition of the metformin - I was not on it last time. I felt tired, got headaches constantly, and always felt like my blood sugar was low. Feeling much better now.

After years of struggling to lose weight I decided to try the low carb keto diet. I'm not strict with it and invite carbs back in over the weekend but so far since Sept 3rd I've lost 9lbs and at my lowest weight in years, I've still got a long way to go but I'm optimistic as it would have taken me months to lose 9lbs before this.

I'm not on metformin as it made me feel sick and I noticed no changes from it, and my cycle was ongoing for 2 months (which can be the norm for me when it decides to show and longer) but 2 weeks into keto and it has finally gone. I usually take Northisterone to get rid of it but this time was not working.

I have been on South Beach Diet for a little over a year and have lost 57 pounds. I haven't noticed a difference with the PCOS yet, but I am still have 78 more pounds to go for my weightloss goal. Still overweight. I am hoping once I get out of the 200s, then I will hopefully notice a difference. I myself love being on SBD, but I am not taking the Metformin because I never noticed a difference.

I'm doing low carb, nothing special just counting. My PCOS symptoms have not really changed. My cycles started on their own after my second child (about 2 years ago) and with the weight loss I seem to have cramps for the first time in my life (last 4 months). I still have facial hair. I am still insulin resistant however I think I am processing my carbs better than 80 pounds ago.
  • What do you all do for the facial hair? I was getting laser treatment done earlier but they still come back. It is kind of annoying and embarrassing too.

I shave daily. Sprinolactone helps slow down the growth, but I still have to shave every morning.
  • I'm the same as LoyalAngel. though, I don't think the spiro is helping me at all. I'm tired of shaving...

I try to eat veggies/fruits and legumes/tofu/fake meats. I feel much better, not as many cravings. I do go off it sometimes (it appears a lot this week due to very high stress at work and at home). Cheese makes me crave more more more. I do much better not eating it. For me, wheat sprouty-bread like Alvardo is great. I do though try to limit it to 2 pieces a day...sometimes up to 4 pieces. I know when I get insulin spikes since I get hungry and shaky, then headachey. Sometimes even some anxiety. Cutting out meat (believe it or not) helped me personally. I feel it whenever I go off my eating plan. I do a haphazard version of Dr. Fuhrman's plan.
