Starting TurboFIRE

Okay, so I'm one of those people who has gotten TurboFIRE, started it and then somehow never finished the program. :P
I started back up this morning (was going to start yesterday but have had a horrible migraine the last 2 days). I am going to continue on and do day two tonight after I get home from work. Are there any others out there who are just starting up again?
Also, I have to always remember how much I love the after TurboFIRE glow.

Okay, so I just realized that I'll get through 12 weeks before my xmas trip to Costa Rica with the bf. Anyone think that skipping the rest days is a good idea? Or maybe (depending on how I'm feeling) double up on the workouts like I did today?
Also, I am having a hard time with my feet. They are starting to really hurt about 12 minutes into each workout. like the arch of my foot. Should I just workout barefoot or in socks? What do you all think?0 -
Hey,
Yeah, I'm one of "them" who start the programme and don't finish, even though I love it! I've got to week 8 before but never ventured beyond that. Something always comes up - sickness, my daughter stops sleeping etc. I'm hoping to start again very soon but am sick at the moment.
I honestly wouldn't skip the rest day. 6 days a week is hard enough and muscles only change during periods of rest, so taking a day off is super important. I actually get faster results taking 2 days off a week as my body isn't under constant stress. As long as you eat well during that time, you'll come a long way in 12 weeks!
I think it says in the book (might have been on the website) that if you're short on time, doing 20 minutes of Fire 55 EZ is a good thing to aim for. So maybe you can tag that on the end of a shorter workout? But remember not to do the HIITs on consecutive days.
Regarding your foot problem, what shoes are you currently wearing? Sounds like you might need better arch support. Cross trainers are recommended for this programme to support your foot as you shift your weight from side to side and all angles during the moves. I would go to a sports shop and get them to assess what kind would suit you and your foot position better. I also workout on interlocking foam mats, which helps to absorb some of the impact and my feet and knees feel so much better.0 -
Thanks Kiekie, I have been thinking about possibly getting the interlocking foam floor pads... (maybe I'll put that on my holiday wish list- heehee). I have New Balance trail shoes. I'll check out some cross trainers here and see if I can't find something strictly for TubroFIRE.
What you're saying about the rest day makes sense. I did day 1 and 2 yesterday (morning and then evening) as I had a migraine Monday and couldn't start when i wanted. I woke up sore this morning. A good sore... maybe I'll just do a low impact yoga to try and stretch out today?0 -
I've been wanting to start (I haven't really got deep into the program and have had it for months now!!)0

No time like now. Looks like there are a few of us that are just starting the first week within the group. Let's do it! :bigsmile:0

hi everyone,
I did turbo fire last year and shed 12 kilos; I wanted to look my best for the wedding that happened in feb this year. Sadly, I have gained back every single kilo post the wedding since I hadnt worked out in close to 7 months now! my clothes dont fit me anymore and my periods are getting irregular. I am going back to TF and start the program next week since I have pulled a neck muscle this week and really unable to move my head. Hopefully, I will lose all the weight i have gained and get pregnant fast. Cheers to everyone who is doing it!0 -
*So it is really hard for me to log in on my CPU at the office now a days. But I have been updating and try to post daily plans of attack on my profile. Feel free to friend me.
So far I have lost 5.1 lbs in the 2 weeks I've been doing TF!
It's keeping me motivated and I've been trying to get up before work to complete the workouts. Although, I have to admit that sometimes that doesn't always happen (like this morning). Some days I do feel sore, and I did kind of strain my wrist and knee last week (not sure if from FB or something else.
I have never made it past week 2 for TurboFire due to something happening. So it's pretty awesome that I'm still going.
Pretty exhausted. But it's more from all the craziness in my life and being so busy.
Having fun and always looking at the positives. I had to take my rest day yesterday due to my parents dog (my dogs sister) having some trouble. Didn't get a lot of sleep and didn't get home until late yesterday evening. :P0 -
I'm going to start on Monday. I need something to kick me in the butt!0
