You know I am!

I thought it was a great debate. Romney knocked it out of the park!

I am not a fan of Romney's politics. He is far too liberal for my tastes. But he earned some more respect from me in the debate. My first observation was that he is nothing like John McCain in terms of what he allows Obama to get away with. McCain was far too timid and unwilling to call Obama out on his BS. Romney takes it right to him, and I love it.

But the most glaring difference between the two candidates for me was that when Romney spoke, he looked directly at Obama (and Obama was, for the most part, staring a hole through the podium in front of him), but Obama looked at Lehrer or the cameras when it was his turn to answer a question. He couldn't even look Romney in the eye, even when talking specifically about him. That says a lot to me about what a coward he is.

The point has been made, and I agree completely, that Obama looks weak when confronted by his challenger because the media has given him a free pass. They did it 4 years ago, they did throughout his presidency, and they've done it throughout this campaign. He never has to answer any tough questions. He never has to defend his record. And last night, he folded when Romney laid out the facts because he was completely unprepared to respond to criticism. At times, he seemed to be pleading with Jim Lehrer with his eyes to change the subject or to jump in and say something, anything at all. At one point, he even said "You may want to move on to another topic" after Romney hammered him on overtaxing small businesses.

It's pretty clear that when Obama doesn't have a teleprompter telling him what to say, he is lost.
