Breathing during insanity

During moves such as high knees, Sean T tells you to breathe out every time you lift your leg. I have been breathing long deep breaths generally. Does he mean short intakes and outtakes of breaths like puffing? Does this work better?

You got it, you want to puff it out like your are sprinting on 1 leg. I find that if I focus on exhaling, inhaling happens automatically. I did run out of breath a few times and had to stop, but that does not happen anymore.

The long deep breaths work well for me during warm-up, cool down and during recovery, for the actual workouts, I find that I have to do the short breaths.

If you find that the long breaths are working for you, keep with what is working for you and work in a few shorter breaths during each session. Over time, you will be able to maintain for the minute.
