1 mile walks

Hi,

We're new to Leslie - Mum's just been diagnosed with cancer so I've got her the 1 mile walk to help her to start exercising regularly and we're doing it together most days (and she's doing it on her own when I'm not there too :))

She has bad legs so at the moment 1 mile is enough for her - is there only the 1 1 mile walk?

Replies

  • I think all of her programs start with one mile. There should be a variety of 1 mile DVD's available. Check out the walkathome site, amazon, or ebay.

Also check out collagevideo dot com they have a Certified instructor's description of the videos, breakdown in minutes and kind of exercise for the videos as well as user reviews. But one of the best things is that you can watch video clips of the DVD to get an idea what is in that particular DVD. I use that web site as well as Amazon dot com for reviews and descriptions of the DVDs.

I don't know which 1 mile that your Mum did but here are easier one milers that I can think of: 1 mile Get Up & Get Started in the Walk Away the Pounds Ultimate Collection DVD. (Leslie has the blue tank top on) it has 4 workouts in the collection.

There are several Christian inspired DVDs with Christian hymns like Amazing Grace and In the Garden etc. The Walk the Walk DVD has a very gentle and peaceful 1 mile walk and a 2 mile walk.

Walk Away the Pounds For Your Week, 5 complete Workouts DVD has 'Walk Diet One Mile. And Muscle Mile One which uses light weights (or she can use no weights)

Others that I have not used but see that she has: DVDs geared to getting healthy like "Walking Down Your Blood Sugar" that is a beginner level one mile. "Heart Healthy Walk" "Active Adult 1 & 2 Mile"

these examples are on the Collagevideo website. Look for DVDs that say beginner.

You can go to Amazon dot com for many more LS DVDs. There is at least one for the older adult, Some DVDs on Amazon were given some very descriptive reviews.

hope this helps you, Best wishes and prayers that your Mum will walk strong as she faces her health challenges. {{{hugs}}} for both of you.
