He put in his two weeks notice today.... I'm elated for him because the job he's going for sounds great, better pay, benefits closer to home, I'm totally happy for him.

I have absolutley no romantic interest in him he's married, albeit he is rather handsome... to think there's more... that is disgusting.....

He's more like a brother...

He also made the comment to me last night on the phone when he told me of his resignation that he's stayed here this long because of me and our friendship we had. We make *kitten* for wages... but it's the people that keep us here. Sucks.
We have enough dirt on eachother....it could be interesting.

So kinda bummed. Boo for that.

It feels weird that I cried alot over it. I usually do that when I lose a "romantic interest" so crying over this guy....feels weird.

We've sat in the same 8 by 8 cell for 5 years. LOL. I suppose I'll have some feelings.

Maybe once he's established he can get you a better job there too!

I recently went through this myself. I left to a new location but within my company... my friend Steve... everyone calls him my work boyfriend. But he's married and having his first kid. We ate lunch together always. It feels so different. He still emails me and says I obviously didn't think my decision over carefully because he misses me. Awwwww I told him he needs to get a job in my building and he's looking to do so.

So maybe you can get a job there too. Then you can have your work husband back. Ha It's tough to lose people you get along with so well. Unless this place is farther for you... look into it. Might be a better opportunity for you. :)

I went through the same thing a little over a year ago. Dave and I (yes, another Dave) worked together for 2-3 years. Our cubes were connected so we removed the wall between us, and we talked all day. We thought about things the same way yet with different methods so we could come up with great plans. He and I could tell each other what for and there were no hurt feelings, haha.

I met his wife and daughter; they became my own family. They even helped me MOVE! Then my company moved him into a new role. I felt like I'd lost a friend.

There will be another someone that comes along. It's great when you can connect with someone that way. Maybe he can help you find a spot where he's headed...

Flower for you and your friend :flowerforyou:

Unfortunately he's moving in the wrong direction. :( Too far north to drive for work. But it's made me think about doing some changing of my own if things don't get better. We actually had 4 resignations and two of them went to the same Company.

Ya, I'll definetly miss the banter. My boss is now under some super big diress.... so when I cried in her office this morning I kept telling her I just needed a corner to hide in....keep working. I know she has sympathy but she's also thinking.... let's go this means we have lots of work to do.... ha ha ha

Awwww :flowerforyou: I'm sorry to hear this. Great friends are hard to come by. But I do hope your life will lead in a bigger and better direction because of it. Sometimes things happen for a very good reason!

:flowerforyou: I am sorry for the loss. And that is exactly what it is, a loss. I was devastated when I lost my work hubby. Thankfully he came back!!!

But I understand the feelings tied to it, and hopefully things will work out in a bigger and better direction!

Am I the only one that's never had a work hubby?

I mean, two of my best friends and another two close friends work at the same company as me, but I don't think I've ever had what you guys are describing.

    Not really a work "hubby".
I had a guy though with who I went on what we called "gay lunch" all the time and everyone was mocking us, but I am sure deep down they were just jealous of our special relationship.

That is hilarious! The ginger from my other post has that same thing with the guy who called him the office gigolo. They go everywhere together. Occasionally they'll show up dressed similarly. We call them "Mom and Dad" and argue about which one is which, haha...

Heh - in my business, (when I'm not stuck at the day-job) I get a different work 'hubby'/'boyfriend' (and sometimes both:wink: ) every six-eight weeks:laugh:. Sadly, they're usually tenors :noway:

I have had mine for 10 years and my last day at this plant is Thursday. I think we are only going to be temporarily separated. Next project starts at the first of the year and I believe we are both going....Kinda anxious though as this is the longest commitment I have had outside my kids. Sad but true.
