Calories in dal

Hi all,

Dal is a common Indian item. Toor dal is commonly used for preparing dal. On MFP, there are so many version of dal with varying calories. It's very difficult to find out how many calories does the dal that we prepare contain.

1. The dal prepared in my house is prepared with very less oil and no coconut / peanut etc. is added in it. Will someone please guide how many calories should it contain?

2. If cooked dal is eaten without any oil / peanut / coconut and spices in it and with just some salt and red-chilli-poweder, then how many caloties will it contain?

    Hi Satish,

    I guess a smarter way would be to create your own receipe on MFP with exact quantities of each ingrediant used. So you wont have to guess and you can sure about the calorie count without under or over estimating it.
