I found this blog today and found it to be a great non-biased insight to both the TM & Spartan races. Just thought I'd pass it along.

    great post - hoping to do the spartan military in march and a TM in KC in sept 2013....

    One thing I'm realizing is that a Spartan Sprint (or any other race) in one location is not the equivalent of one in another. While the obstacles don't change significantly, it's the terrain that really drives the difficulty. While I can appreciate the differences listed in the article below, the Spartan Beast and the Tough Mudder he compared have such different terrains that it seems to be comparing apples and oranges.

    That said, I'm looking forward to the 2013 race season. I want to do them all, so I can make my own comparisons! :)

    i did both, Tough Mudder is fun and not a race.
    Spartan is tough hard and put your fitness to stress.

    Spartan Beast vs Tough Mudder is nothing to compare, if you want to have fun with friends, to Tough Mudder.
    If you want to be in pain (which i love) do the Beast
