Has anyone or does anyone use any of the Vibram shoes?
I have been ready alot about barefoot running lately and wouldn't mind trying a pair out.
Let me know what you think

Hi Justine! I jog/run, bke and do general gym stuff in my Vibrams, And I LOVE them!!! Read all you can on these "weird toe shoes" BEFORE you partake of your hard earned money. Let me ask you if you wear Crocs-because Crocs have MORE cushion and support han VFFs(Vibram Five Fingers). If you can then you should have no problem wearing these. Go to Vibrams website and READ, READ, and READ!!!! http://www.vibramfivefingers.com/index.htm
BTW- I have 4 pair of VFFs- 2 KSO(keep stuff out), 1 Kommodo and 1 pair of Flow(neoprene for winter running). LAST WORD if you do purchase-size them properly to your foot(on VFF wesite), AND GO AT IT SLOW!!!!!!! Let me know how it goes.....I am on Facebook,,,,,facebook.com/DaveZim0 -
I have a pair of the toe shoes and the Vibram Merril shoes. I like the non-toe version better (just don't like things between my toes). I wear both randomly for workouts. I don't like running more than a couple of miles in them, but I love them for other things like Insanity/Plyo type workouts. I wore them one time for an obstacle run and will never do that again. They had absolutely no grip when wet and muddy. So I won't be using them for that, but will definitely continue using them for short runs and plyo.0

Thanks for the advice. I have been reading a lot about these and how you have to slowly work your way into wearing them.

I have running shoes with Vibram soles, but I thought the five fingers were so uncomfortable. I wear flip flops all the time, so don't mind things between my big toe, but I hated between others.
I wear Inno-8 Bare Grips for trail/obstacle runs, and Newton Running for street running, and Puma H-Street for Crossfit. All are minimalist.0 -
I have a pair of Trek KSO and I love them for mud runs! They have some pretty gnarly traction on them, so I don't find myself slipping too bad in the mud and obstacles. Plus I feel that being able to use your toes helps you grip on to stuff. I also wear them on my road runs, but I am thinking of getting some non-trail rated Vibrams for that.
As stated earlier, if you do decide to go this route take it easy for the first few weeks. I wouldn't suggest anything longer than a mile for the first week, then slowly build your way back up. Your legs will not like you at first, but will thank you later on!
Word of advice, keep an eye out online for sales on Vibrams. I picked my Treks up on REI for 40 bucks. I figured if I didn't like them, I would have a nice pair or workout/water shoes. Much easier to swallow than the 100-120+ normal price!0
