Sleep deprived and weight loss link?

Hey, I've been hearing a lot about how not getting enough sleep can affect your weight in a negative way. I have never been a sound sleeper, almost any movement or noise wakes me. I haven't had a full nights sleep in over a year other than maybe 1 or 2 pass out nights (lol). I was just wondering what everyone else had heard about it and if anyone had any tips on how to go to sleep easier or better?
-I've tried natural sleeping pills, tried drinking milk or water before bed, tried changing the way I'm sleeping.
-I am a very stressed person, like all the time and my job only makes everything worse.. I'm attempting to find a new one..
Please help lol.

Tire yourself out during the day. Walk places. Exercise. Do some housework or fix things you've been putting off. Anything to tire yourself out. That's what I usually do so I can fall asleep easily.
Also, don't eat nothing sugary before you sleep or have anything with caffeine. Maybe have a warm bath or cup of hot tea before you nod off.0 -
Hmmm... I actually had to go to a doctor after my surgery as I could no longer sleep naturally and he prescribed some sleep medication for me. Something called elavil, I take 50mg a night. He stated I can take take up to 150mg safely. I only have to go to 75 or a 100ng if I'm really stressed out. If you are able to, talk to a doctor about it. I do not have sleep apnea, but I've heard that can effect sleep patterns as well, and if that is fixed, maybe you can get back on a normal sleep schedule without medication. Especially since it's been going on so long, a year and a half is a long time.... it might be worth a doctor's check up, just to be certain.0

Thanks guys that does help. I generally do keep pretty busy during the day because I work 8-6, and unfortunately I do not own a bath tub :frown: it's really sad lol.
I have had a couple people tell me to go to the doctors for it so I believe I will have to do that once I find one that will take me.
Thanks again0 -
Can you go for a walk for at least a half hour on your lunch breaks?0

I do get an hour lunch break, but usually by the time I'm done eating and logging on here there isn't much left. Or a lot of the time I'm needed to go back early, I tend to stay around just incase they need me. I have been waking up at 5 o'clock lately and staying up. I may try to squeeze in some walking before I have to go to work in the mornings0
