Reward Yourself

Good Afternoon Ladies!
We all have made goals. Maybe just one big one or you have small ones that eventually lead up to your big goal.
How do you make your goals? Big or small?
When you reach them, do you reward yourself?
How?

I tend to set goals to reach a certain weight by a certain time. I usually make mini goals a few months away. My major goal is to run in the USMC Mud Run in Columbia next October but with it being so far away, and having so far to go, I have to set mini goals to keep me motivated. The one I'm working on now is to get to 145 by New Years (that's 10 lbs down from starting weight).
I was going to try to talk DH into letting me get a jogging stroller if I get rid of the baby weight by my birthday (that would be down to 135 by February 15th), but we've been talking about it and I think we're going to get one after Christmas anyway, haha. I'm not sure what my next reward for a mini goal will be. Maybe a date night with just the hubs, leaving our son with a baby sitter?
I like the idea of rewarding yourself when you reach a goal, but for me, ditching the old size and moving up a notch on the belt is reward enough for me. It always makes me do a little happy dance. :happy:0 -
I make mini goals thru the week like watch my sodium intake and carbs, water water water, and exercising at least 3x a week for 30 minutes each. I've even started where I want to get up to 10 push ups by Friday. My big goal as of now is to be below 200 by Christmas.0

My weight goals are as follows:
Pre-pregnancy (15 more pounds to go!)
Wedding
Meet my husband
Bought my house
and then it decreases by 10 pounds until I'm at goal. lol
I set activity/exercise goals for myself on a weekly basis. Like for instance, this week I am determined to just be active in general since both my Zumba classes ended last week. I find myself doing squats, lunges, etc throughout the day and that really helps.
Rewards, well I don't have any set yet but as that first goal gets closer, I find myself thinking about it more.0 -
I've lost 15 lbs on here, just rewarded myself with a heart rate monitor!0

I make small goals and one ultimate bigger goal. I feel small goals make we so happy once I get there. Then I just move on to the next one and eventually I'll be at my end goal and maybe even better!0

Being able to wear my clothes from a year ago, before I got pregnant, will be my greatest reward. That and of course shopping for more.
I've not yet really started any calorie reduction as I'm still losing baby weight by breastfeeding, but I will exercise more and slowly reduce my calories around my 6-week mark. Then I might be more inclined to care for food rewards and other small things. I don't really deserve anything now.0 -
hi, i do reach goals for myself on different levels with the scale but small terms i gave myself a point systemthat goes like this
if i drink 8 glasses of water i get 5pts.
every glass over 8 1pt for each glass
stay under daily cals 1pt
do not use workout cals 5pts
if i do my workout for the day 2pts
if i workout 5days for that week 20pts
and to help me remeber to take
my vitamins everyday 1pt each day
every time i get to 500 or so points i reward myself . my 1st reward was bras ( i need excuses to buy things for me i normally dont) 2nd was new yoga pants 3rd i just bought a zumba dvd set that has 4 dvd's and maracas
long term goal when i drop 100lbs i'm going skydiving!0
