Pedometer questions...

What a great challenge!

I work from home and usually am on the couch unless I'm working out during the day.

Trying to get in 100 miles this month will motivate me to get up and moving!

I just ordered this pedometer just now.

Ozeri 4x3motion Digital Pocket 3D Pedometer with Tri-Axis Technology

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0042H69WU/ref=ox_ya_os_product

I got overnight shipping so starting Saturday all my distances should be accurate.

Today and tomorrow I will have to estimate the best I can.

What pedometer do you have? I've never had one - are they pretty easy to use?

The one I ordered tracks steps and miles.

Do you know.. if I'm stepping in place (standing up working at the computer on a counter), will it just track steps but no mileage?

Any other tips on using one... or getting steps / miles in?

Thanks!

  • I just use the Cardio Trainer App on my phone. It uses GPS to track my distance.

I have an Omron and love it. As far as I can tell it does count steps if you walk in place but I am not sure how accurately it does that function. Tips for more steps that I find helpful include parking waaaaaay far away from my final destination as well as skipping elevators at work. When I take my dogs out to play fetch I won't stand in one place and throw I walk all around the yard so I get steps and they burn off just a wee bit more energy. Hope this helps.
