And a good start to a new fun-filled week! I had a sick baby girl all weekend, still don't know what is wrong with her since her dad isn't quick to keep me in the loop (the only issue we are having right now lol) have a great day!

    Awww! This is not *considered* a holiday at my job, so no double time for me! :(

    How old is she? My son has come down with the sniffles, sneezes and gross cough. I have been dosing him with allergy meds and that seems to help.

    I think it is tonsillitis...when I took her home Sunday, I found out her step sister had stayed home this past weekend with it.. :( She is 10.

    Me too! Minus the double time. :frown: On the bright side, I am off in 40 mins!

    It's a holiday here but I don't get the extra pay.

    Hope she feels better soon.

    Awhhh! I hope she feels better. Maybe get those tonsils out while you still can! I used to get strep 4-5 times a year, and after my tonsils were removed I only have it once a year--- if that.

    @Sherry, hope she's better soon.

    Since it's a holiday and I'm off from work, I have a first date this afternoon. Coffee and a walk on the beach planned. This is the most excited about a first date I think I've been all year. We 'met' online and things have really clicked, so fingers crossed it keeps up in real life! Aaaahhh, I feel like a giddy teenager!

    Last week today was scheduled as a holiday for the entire company. Then last Tuesday they decided "Naaaaaah" and said everyone had to come in anyway. Most people requested the day off anyway, but I am resentful that I have to be here today >:(

    It is the observance of Veteran's day which was really yesterday but government offices and banks (which I work for) and some other business are closed. We are supposed to have it off but they required us to work today.

    Sorry to hear that Sherry!! I hope she feels better!!

    I ended up with a 5 day weekend because of a cold/sinus infection. I think it's pretty much cleared out now, but it's made the weekend less exciting than hoped for. We just hung out playing games and I had a couple church events. Other than that, not a thing was accomplished. I have today off, and started with a trip to Starbucks. I have lunch with my daughter at her school, and think I'll just make up for my weekend in the next few hours. ;) We shall see.

    Ah... Thanks for explaining :smile: . We make a big deal of Remembrance Sunday (yesterday), but don't get a public holiday out of it. I hadn't realised that the US has a commemoration at the same time of year - I suppose it makes sense, I just hadn't thought of it!

    You don't get a public holiday on the Monday due to Rememberance Day falling on a Sunday? That seems odd, we do here in Canada. All the government offices, banks, schools, etc are closed.

    I was in the USA for a couple days prior to Rememberance Day and I had a nice American lady politely ask me what the red button (it was a felt poppy) on my jacket meant as she had seen quite a few people wearing them. She seemed quite intrigued when I told her the story of the poppy. It was a proud Canadian moment for me. Come to think of it, I should have whipped out a $10 bill and shown her the poem and poppies printed on the back.

    I remember us wearing poppies when I was growing up for it also but through time it has kind of gone away.

    I always have Mondays off. I was super excited that the kids did too. So did Mr. NG. Did the grocery shopping with the little ones. Bought a few frozen pizzas for dinner. Mr NG came over and watched a movie with us (Brave).It was cute. The kids really like him. They dont know he is my BF yet havent figured out how to start up the conversation.
