Day 10 of insanity

Hi I'm Esther and its only day 10 of insanity & I can already see a difference in my waist & legs but pounds not lost. Is that ok? Help!!

I am in the first week of the second months and my scale says: No weight loss so far.
But this is just a number.
I can see a difference in my waist and legs and arms and shoulders. There are actually muscles!
And I can see them!
So my own explanation is... I lost fat, but I got muscles. Muscles weigh more than fat, so the scale sees no difference.
But there IS a difference.0 -
Hi Esther - Congratulations on making it through the first 2 weeks, the toughest transition. As far as weight loss, keep at it. It could be a number of things, when you start your muscles may be retaining more water and it may take time to loose weight.
Consider measuring yourself, I lost inches even though the scale did not move.
I did insanity twice in the last 5 months, finished second round a few weeks ago. It was not until a week before completion, I figured out the following part after reading a mfp forum: Typically, I would do insanity and did not do anything else for the rest of the day (I have a desk job), but I had my activity level as intermediate and I was eating back all of my calories burned during insanity. I changed from intermediate to sedentary and ate back all of the exercise calories and the scale started to move again.
My point is that: I changed my total daily energy expediture (TDEE) closer my basal metabolic rate (BMR) because calories burned during insanity is accounted for in the exercise calories...basically removing the double dipping.
I may have lost 7-8 total during the 2 rounds of insanity, but lost inches and feel much better. There is no feeling that comes close to the sense of accomplishment on Day 63.

Not pay a lot of attention to the scale. I'm gonna start watching my inches.0 -
