Hi everyone,
My name is Julie and I am starting a 12 week running program for a half marathon starting also on Monday. I have lost weight in the past but somehow it has crept back on. My boyfriend is starting the primal diet so we are starting to eat more healthy. I need help to stay motivated and having some one other than myself to be accountable too. I am only going to weigh-in every Monday and then forget about the scale. I am excited to get started and hopefully learn how to have a healthier lifestyle no more going up and down in weight.
So here's to everyone for having the courage to start thinking about themselves and the future!

Hi my name is Patty. I am 31 years old. I wanna join the group as I want to look for a support group. I really want to reach my ideal weight of 110 lbs. I currently weigh around 123 lbs. I love sweets though. I was able to give up soda but occasionally I drink a glass or two. I also am now using Equal sugar substitute to cut down on calories. I also gave up eating rice and is now on sugar free wheat bread for carbohydrates.
As much as I want to jog everyday, I am unable to do so. Exercise-wise, I just do household chores and the rest of the time, my life is sedentary. I know I have to do more exercises to speed up my weight loss taht is why I want to join the group so that we could encourage each other to meet our goals. best wishes to all of us.0 -
Hi! My name is Asha and I'm 20 years old. I've been struggling with my weight since I was about 10. As a young child I was skinny as could be, but when I hit puberty it all changed. My highest weight was close to 160 and during my senior year of high school I got down to about 145. Since going to college, I gained back 10 pounds and became increasingly dissatisfied with my body. In high school I didn't lose weight the healthy way. I'm ready to adopt a healthier lifestyle not just to lose weight but to also feel accomplished and know that I am treating my body with the respect that I deserve. I would love to lose 21 pounds by my 21st birthday (Feb. 19) putting me at 130 pounds, but if I can reach my first goal weight of 140 pounds by then I would be happy. I hope that I can use this group to hold myself accountable and that I can also meet a supportive group of people.0

Hello my name is Danielle
I live in prince George Canada. We are snowed in until April and I want to use the winter to begin a healthy lifestyle. Two years ago I was a size 8 and now I'm a size 12. I want to be a size 8 again before we move to another city in May. I made a deal with myself if I can't fit into that box of old clothes in the closet by then they will go to the garbage. That's one motivation - the other is to build an everyday healthy lifestyle packed with fitness and healthy nutrition.

My name is LJ and I am 21 years old. I have been battling severe depression during my final year in college and it caused me to gain a lot of weight. Hi, my name's Elizabeth (call me Liz, or Lizzy), I'm 18 years old, not yet in college but hoping to be before 20! I'm currently having financial issues, but that's besides the point. I've been chubby and unhealthy my whole life, and it wasn't until recently that I finally decided I needed to change. For extra support, I've joined this site, and even though it's only been less than a day ( :laugh: ) I already feel much more motivated than I ever have before! I'm currently 146-ish lbs (5'2) , and I'm looking to be 20 lbs less by April. Which is 2/3 of my overall goal, to be 116 lbs0

Hello my name is Jennifer. I live in CO and I have been trying to loose weight for awhile. I started to gain weight in high school and it started to hang on when I meet my now husband. I was successful in April and lost 25 pounds but gained most of it back. We would like to try to have kids this coming summer so I wanted to loose the weight before then and maintain the loss.

Hello! I'm an 18 year old looking to get fit. I'm looking to lose around ~30-35 pounds by March 18th.
Some things I could use support with: giving up cheese! I eat WAY too much of it and I need to just give it up because it's an addiction and I have no self control AT ALL. Giving it up once and for all...starting tomorrow. Someone hold me accountable!0 -
Hey everybody! I am 25 years old and looking to get back on track with my fitness goals. I started my weight loss journey at 253 lbs and at my lowest I was just over 200 lbs. I recently graduated college and have since put back on about 11 pounds. My short term goal is to get to what some call "Onederland" but my ultimate goal is to be 185 lbs. I'm hoping to hit that goal by the summer months of '13.0

Hi all...I'm Rebecca from Ohio. Mom to two boys 5 and 4. I have been working to lose the same weight for a while now. Everytime I start taking it off I stop however this time is different. I am worried not only about my health but my oldest son as well. He has always been on the high side of the the weight charts and so far the doc is not too worried but I am. He is very active but starting to get into computers more due to school and has lost those days to play outside like he used to. I am determined to set a good example for him and show him the proper steps to stay healthy and hopefully the result is not only me losing weight but him as well. I have also been a diabetic for almost a year now and my doc is getting on me about the lack of progress on weight loss so this is real for me. If I cannot lose the weight and keep it off I have to look at the real possibility of having more meds added to my current diabetes regimen. This group is coming along at the right time in that it starts the day I really planned on kicking into high gear and getting a jump start on the new year. Hi, I am a 49 year old mother of two sons, 19 and 16 and a full time teacher in No. Calif. I will be turning 50 at the end of April and would like to be in the best shape of my life. I never really struggled with weight until I hit my 40's, but in the last 10 years I've slowly put on 25 pounds. I've taken off 10 pounds every so often but have always put the pounds right back on and added some more pounds in the process. When I saw the scale at 164 two weeks ago I knew things needed to change and came back to MFP. So this a perfect challenge for me to hit my goal weight by April 1st. I love the support and motivation of this site!!!

Hello all! My name is Lindsey. I'm a 19 year old college student double majoring in Psychology and Sociology and minoring in Criminal Justice. I've been struggling with my weight all of my life and went back and forth during middle and high school, but nothing stuck. It's harder for me to fit in time to exercise and eat right with all my classes and extracurricular activities of college. This next week is finals week which I will try to fit a workout in each day (I'm an elliptical girl) but then the following week I'm going to start Jillian Michael's 30 day shred. I'm currently 5' 7", 235 lbs. which is the heaviest I've ever been. I don't really have a specific goal weight, I just have this idea of how I eventually want to look and feel. I'm in love with reading and baseball (MN Twins!). Feel free to friend me, I try to log my food and exercise every day.0

Howdy everyone. I'm a married 35 year old mom of a 3 1/2 y.o. little girl. When I first started dating my husband I was 140...when we got married (after gaining some happy relationship pounds) I was 160. I got up to 250 at my heaviest while pregnant. Oy.
Now I'm 195. My daughter is 3 1/2. I can't keep saying "I'll get this *baby* weight off eventually." lol
So. Thanks for starting this group!

My name is Amy and I just joined MFP. This looks like a great challenge. I'm 58 and just retired and have time to exercise now. The past several years I had a commute which made it hard to find the time to exercise and I gained 20 pounds in 2 years. As a start, I'd like to lose that 20 lbs by April 1st.

Hey guys. My names Liz, I'm 23 years old and am getting married next October. I would like to lose weight for my wedding and of course learn how to live healthier and not be lazy and just cook pasta every night. I am currently finishing up my last semester in college and have a part time (will be full time once I graduate) job at my local animal shelter doing their marketing and media. I love to foster animals, do puzzles, and play computer games when I have the time. Hi Everyone,
My name is Sharon, I am 49, married, and I really need some accountability. That's why I have joined this challenge-to give and get support. I lost 55 pounds from my highest weight, but for the past year or so, I have been going up/down within 10 pounds. I have a long way to go to reach my goal,and though that is daunting, ultimately it really doesn't really matter. It must be done. I feel sooo much better now than I felt at my highest. I encourage anyone just starting to stay the course. It is worth it.
About me-I have a stressful sedentary job and long commute, and I am sure that I am not the only one, but those factors are significant to my journey. I love animals (2 dogs), quilting, garment sewing (just getting back into it), nature/plants, and music.
