In fact, I prefer the look of the Hope Hoops RS-SP's :glasses:0

They're nice too! :glasses:0 -
Hmm well if this was Harry Hill's TV Burp I'd say throw them into a ring and FIGHT!!! Whichever one wins is obviously the strongest!
In all seriousness, personally I prefer the look of the Mavics but for durability I think the Hopes would win (on Mavic rims!) and therefore they'd be my choice. Those Fulcrums TBY found look pretty nice too, damn so much choice!
I'll be in the market for a new set come the January sales so keep us posted!0 -
FWIW, I have fulcrums on my tri bike and I've been REALLY happy with them. Only 1 season on them, but they saw a fair bit of use.0

I can't say that I've ever heard of Hoops before. Maybe it's just a UK brand?
I'm a Zipp guy, personally (303s, 404s, and 808s on different bikes).0 -

Hope is a UK based engineering company - started out making just MTB kit, headsets, hydraulic brakes, hubs etc, and branched out into road wheels maybe 2 years ago. TBH the wheels are just a "pre-built" setup with some very nice lightweight, sealed preset bearing hubs and top-end Mavic clincher rims - nothing that a decent wheelbuilder couldn't knock up for you in a couple of hours if you want them. If you've seen the video of Martyn Ashton "hooning" around on a Pinarello Dogma, he's actually riding on a pair of the deep section Carbon Rim versions of the Hope wheels.
Zipp's are nice wheels, but they're a whole different price league to the stuff the OP's actually looking at... (£450 ish for the mavic's vs £1650ish for the 303's) - I think that a pair of the 303's would cost more than the entire bike he's currently riding around on - perhaps not QUITE what he's looking for0 -

You took the words right outta my mouth! :noway: :laugh:0 -
If you're patient, you might be surprised.
I picked up a pair of 404's for $500 US on eBay. Every time I saw a pair, I put $500 on it. After 8 months, I finally got one (ironically, I won two at once and sold one pair for a profit)0 -

I've used Mavic Cosmic Elites for a couple years and love em! Just my 2 cents.0
