Homemade protein bars

Options
Hi Ladies...some friends have asked about the homemade protein bars in my diary so I thought I'd share the recipes and site I use for other recipes. I've found these to be cheaper overall and I am able to make a bunch and freeze. Maybe not everyone's taste but I do think they are yummy and are an easy snack since I am on the road all day for work.
No Bake Protein Bars..found this one in Oxygen magazine
2 C quick cooking oats
1/2 C natural peanut butter
4 scoops of vanilla or chocolate protein powder, or a mix of the two
1/2 C water
1T ground flaxseed (I do not always use this)
Kneed all ingredients in a large bowl. Spread dough into sprayed dish, pressing down to flatten. Freeze for 30 min..then refrigerate.
Makes 6 large bars. Calories 310 Total Fat 13g. Saturated fat 2g. Trans fat 0g. Cholesterol 25 mg. Sodium 30mg. Total Carb 28 g Fiber 5g Sugars 5g Protein 22g Iron 2mg.
These are large bars and I usually cut them a bit smaller, they are very filling.

I've also found some great protein bar recipes at Bodybuilding.com If you look at Jamie Eason's Live Fit program she has numerous protein bar recipes which are quite good. Pumpkin bars, carrot cake bars and Chocolate bars as well as some others I have not yet tried.
Enjoy!!
