I really found this article well written and to the point.
For certain female athletes in particular who tend to be more quad dominant and activate their glutes/hamstrings less than men and they have a tendency to stabilize the knee joint by primarily using the quadriceps muscles..The author mentioned cutting on a field but also you look a sports like basketball/volley ball ect..where females also land from jumps with less knee flexion than males because of this neuromuscular imbalance. So I def agree with the idea of focusing on “turning on” or
emphasizing the recruitment of the posterior kinetic chain muscles..I also think the rise in female athletes def plays a part in the rise in acl injuries as the author points out..0 -
