In another topic (http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/827162-update-on-my-single-peeps-new-profile-results?page=2) about responses to an online dating profile update this came up. Someone of us were coming up with ideas for jobs to get that are opposite sex heavy.
as for the alternatives to match, etc. once i'm done here, i'm done here. no more online dating, at least for a good long while. i have my gyms as an avenue currently and maybe this summer i'll have another part time job somewhere that guys work too. we'll see.

What a coincidence that you wrote this... I just read, in a book on interracial dating, a case study about a professional woman whose friends told her to find a man go take a part time job where the men are...at a hardware store!! She did and met her now husband. I never would have thought of taking a part time job just to be where it's your job to talk to random men, but what a great idea!!

I thought it would be fun to name off places to get a job that would help you land a date.

So far
yeah, i am just trying to figure out what would be the BEST part time job with high male volume ;-)

I would guess stripper and/or prostitute.

Working on a cargo ship

crab fisherman ala The Deadlest Catch

She could head to North Dakota and work in the oil fields, they call them man camps after all.

Become a personal assistant on the Bacherlotte and pick up on the man-scraps
NFL cheer leader

receptionist for a urologist

All mens choir, piano player.

FYI this is fun so please don't get any panties in the wad.

    Those are hysterical!

Being a waitress, I came across plenty of men. And if its in your nature, you can flirt a little too, comp them free drinks, etc.

There was this guy at college who carded people at the door at the bar. So cute...and he knew my name and never carded me. I bet he met a ton of girls! He was really cute to boot too so that probably helped.

I'd second waitress, and raise you a bartender. Especially at a sports bar.

Sporting Event ticket taker, concession stand worker.

Men's department clerk at a high end store - like Brooks Brothers, or maybe Macy's.

Friend did that when she was 19. Probably got hit on but she never mentioned it as that wasn't the demo she liked back then.

Haha yes! It was actually cause a few years earlier, two girls who had no idea of the layout of the course drove into someone's game! So for the bev cart, they only let people who played golf drive the cart.

I guess there aren't any good jobs for a man wanting to meet women. Maybe bartender or doorman. Other than that I guess you have to be a hair stylist but you'll probably get hit on more by your male coworkers if you do that.

Repair man & Bank teller <--- primarily daytime business week hours. Too big of a pay cut.

    Ski instructor <
I live in the midwest. It's flat so if you meant snow skiing nope, if you meant waterskiiing, no lakes within a reasonable distance.

Yoga instructor <---- If I was that flexible, I wouldn't need a woman.

Working at a bank definitely works. I would also think a guy that works at some sort of repair shop.

@poncho- the question was, where could someone get a part time job (besides their full time) to meet people of the opposite sex?

If you are a male tennis pro at some sort of racquet/country club, you will have enough interaction with females. Many will be married, but a few of these married women will be bored women looking to have affairs.

Repair men are needed on nights and weekends. You would want to have these jobs on nights and weekends because if you went a service call during the day and a woman is home she is more then likely married but if you get someone that can only schedule at 6pm on a tuesday it is more likely they are single.

FYI I did giggle typing service call, mind in gutter.

I worked at a winery once where I poured wine behind the bar, and people would always come in on a date, and the girl would get all giggly and have to pee (cause she drank soooo much wine ya know....) then me being the "opportunity knocking" kinda gal.... I was all like "Dude...you do realize she's [you fill in the blank] right?" and I'd slip him my number..... Then be all professional again.

LOL I miss that job sometimes.
Otherwise put me on a farm somewhere, there's lots of boys there.

See tennis pro commentary. Similar idea. A woman at home alone during the day may want a purely sexual affair, which a lot of guys would be down for. I would say that is a smaller percentage.

Tennis pro is probably better for finding affairs with married women than repairman.
