I strapped into the heart rate monitor t his morning and did my driveway. 100 paltry calories, so I did my neighbor's .. purely selfish.. I didn't want to go to the gym but I wanted a work out. so all in all it was an hour's time and 656 calories. I planned on stopping after i'd cleared a path for him to get to his mail box, but I ended up doing the whole thing! MAYBE, just maybe it will be a step in the right direction getting me out of my singular world... onto a kinder path.... happy new year.

Welcome back. I think you know the answer to your question. If you did the work to help your neighbor and offered it up to the glory of God, yes it is pleasing to God. If you did the work, not for your neighbor, but to take care of the temple that your body is, there's merit there as well. If you did it for vanity, not so much. Obviously, God was on your mind at some point, and God is always pleased when we are thinking of Him and examining whether are actions are pleasing to Him. And, yes, I think you are on the right track.
Happy feast of Mary Mother of God and may you abundantly feel the peace of Christ throughout the New Year!0
