Travelling/Road Trip Eating ideas

Good morning fellow MFPers,
I know there are some other posts about this topic in the 'main' forums, but I figured I'd post this here to get some fresh perspectives and ideas.
I'm going on a road trip Feb 2- Feb 18 from Minnesota to N'awlins for Mardi Gras. I have some basic preparations of food items to bring with - but could definitely use some more hints and ideas. I will be driving while pulling an RV travel trailer - parking overnight where I can along the way and camping for a week in N'awlins. This means I won't have much access to electricity, instead reliant on microwaves and fresh food options that don't need alot of prep.
Would love to hear what advice and ideas you have to offer - what would you do if you go on an extended trip?
Peace,
Thomas

Get snack sized baggies and measure out single portions of things like dates, roasted almonds (I get sea salt ones and also dark chocolate ones for something sweet), yogurt raisins, soy chips, etc. Depending on whether you are a more sweet or salty kind of person I guess. I find that crunchy/chewy things like that also help keep me awake! Take fruits that aren't temperature sensitive and are easy to eat, like apples and bananas. Make PB&J on wheat bread, that usually lasts pretty long on the road.
And whenever I need something hot, I'll just pull in to somewhere like Wendy's or something and get a grilled chicken sandwich but not eat the bun, and now they have sweet potatoes and stuff on the menu.
It's difficult, especially if the trip is long. But it can be done. I'm sure there are a lot more creative ideas than mine, these are just the things that have worked for me.0 -
I think the snack sized bags are the best idea! I go thru them like there is no tomorrow!0
